Definitely looks that way in this game, and I agree that that has been their MO as a school at the QB position.

As for me, I'll be watching the new-look Orangemen as they take on Ohio at the dome. (ACC Network, 3:00PM) I will be keeping an eye on the Georgia/Clemson game as well. The Syracuse team is completely different from last year and is now being run by new HC Fran Brown, who spent the last few years as a coach at Georgia, and for the last several years was voted best recruiter in the nation

New to Syracuse is a transfer QB (Ohio State's 6-3 Kyle McCord, who threw for 3170 yds last year with 24 TDs and 6 interceptions and a 11-1 win record (the one loss of his was at Michigan St., where he got the "DJ treatment" from fans" causing him to want a change of scenery)

Syracuse kept their studs (including a couple who were going to go to the NFL draft in April, and changed their mind under their new coach) and have loaded up with transfers from Georgia and Alabama, as well as others. Ranked the 3rd best transfer haul by writers. I think Ole Miss was no.1 in transfer haul, so you might want to keep an eye on them

Big time first half by Drew Allar against a respectable opponent in a hostile environment. Definitely a guy for Giants fans to keep an eye on throughout this season.

I don't know what UGA game you guys are watching but Beck is methodically dismantling #14 Clemson. He looks really comfortable in the pocket. He's made excellent decisions and most importantly he's been really accurate. He's looked better today than Drake Maye looked at any point last year at UNC.

I watched the whole UGA game.  I saw some good throws but also some that were frankly off the mark that the WR made a good play on.  He threw to a RB on a wheel route and the RB had to spin around.  If he threw it accurately, the RB would have been on a dead run and scored but instead had to spin around to catch it which slowed him down.  I like his size, but am not wowed yet by him.  I saw much more intangible mental skills by Sanders a few days ago.

I watched the entire game as well and can only recall two passes where his receivers had to bail him out. FWIW that happens to every top qb in every single game. Keep in mind he dismantled a Clemson team that returned all but one or two starters from a team that finished last year with the 8th best defense in college football. There wasn't a single pass he made in that game where I thought that's a pick in the NFL. Sanders was impressive but he threw a couple passes against NDSU that would have been picked off by a good defense. I think Sanders is a good quarterback and will be a legitimate top 10 pick he faces garbage defenses week in and week out. His stats will be more impressive because of it.

I thought the entire UGA offense looked materially better in the second half than first half. They have more talent than Clemson does, and their coaches clearly did a better job of making halftime adjustments than their opponent did.

The other takeaway from that game was QB play. Since the days of Trevor Lawrence, Clemson has been pretty weak at QB. DJ Uiugalei (sp?) was a big disappointment and he looked bad for FSU against Ga Tech in that first game. And this Klubnik kid was incredibly hyped up coming into Clemson, and he has yet to impress. he is a junior now and while admittedly today was as tough an assignment as he'll see all year, he didn't look good at all and he wasn't good last year either. Clemson overall as a program is just not where they were five years ago.

I am in the camp that Beck played well today but didn't dazzle. He's clearly going to be a top prospect coming into the league next year. I want to see how his season progresses.

I just don't see what separates Beck from Stetson Bennett, Jacob Eason, DJ Shockley, Aaron Murray, or Jake Fromm. Easy to be a game manager when the backups are 5 stars.

Cam Ward is going to have a good year.

I really need to see Ewers intermediate game this year to feel better about him but he's definitely a guy.

You have to evaluate the player separately from his predecessors. If you didn't you'd look at USC's long list of quarterback busts and pass on Caleb Williams or you'd have passed on Herbert. In Becks case he has more size and arm talent than every guy you listed. Not really his fault the UGA prefers a quick passing game that features more screens, slants and short crossing routes than longer downfield routes.
