As stated in the offseason, the improvements this team made were VASTLY overrated, especially on offense.

1. The Giants no longer have their best offensive player.
2. They 'fixed' the oline by signing 2 below average journeymen, and 1 very average guard
3. Most importantly, we're still saddled with the QB who's a well BELOW AVG passer.

BL: The offense is among the NFL's worst, and it will be until they secure a passing QB and at least one more quality lineman. We'll be lucky to win 6 games.

The good news - Nabers looks great, and with the exception of 2 plays, Banks held is own against the NFL's best WR.  Dex is still Dex.  We just need a QB, and another plus linemen.

Of every game I watched so far, the Giants Oline looked on par with every other team. Jones is the one who looked bad.
Ain't nothing to it but to do it!

Against Minn, who has a bottom 5 Def.  It's going to get worse, Sooner.  But your point is well taken; the Oline is better than last season, which is a small bar :)

Agreed. Their play today was better than any of the 17 games last year. If they stay healthy, they will only get better.

I think given their 1st game together, the OL looked very good.

I'm more concerned about the DL after the first Viking drive, they all but disappeared. Then again, if I had to watch my QB play like that all day, I might lose some juice as well.

Jones need to go. At this point it doesn't matter who plays QB this year, as long as it's not Jones.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

I just saw they have been outscored 68-6 in the last two openers.

H-Town G-Fan

I'm honestly surprised it was this bad. He's always been capable of this type of bottom-plumbing performance, but he actually had time to throw and... He just didn't look like an NFL player. I think he's capable of better play than this, but not enough for it to matter. The Giants will go nowhere with him, as has been true for the majority of his career, save one season he was hidden behind a strong running game.

Concerning the oline, they gave up 5 sacks and more than double the pressures.  That puts them on a pace to equal the exact number from last year: 85.  While the Oline played better, they're still not very good and crippled by a QB who stinks at making adjustments.

This could have been much worse. O'Connell dialed it down midway through the 3rd quarter and Daboll ran the clock out.

Banks gave up two receptions, to the NFL's best WR; on the 40 yard reception, he was in cover 2, and I put that more on the FS for not getting over in time.  He held JJ to under 100 yards, which is a nice day from a second year CB.  Ask any DC, and they'll take that any day of the week. Perhaps you're just not aware of just how good JJ is?

Mara must be pissed ...they let Barkley walk and got no one to replace him....I really don't think Mara wanted to see him leave...
hopefully, if things don't improve quickly and Giants are out of Playoffs by November ....Mara needs to contact Bill sooner rather than later. And have him ready to take over next year.
I know not is early to say that ...but really I don't see what Dabble can do at this point other than win at least 9 games.
And based on todays performance that does not look likely.
hope I am wrong about all of this but ???? show me something ...please.

Mara really wanted Jones to stay as well.

That's why we had to let Barkley go.

That's why we don't have a starting quarterback.
