They were invisible yesterday. Kayvon has had too many disappearing acts before and Burns gave you nothing as well. Yes, Jones was horrible, but they dont get a hall pass, either.

Nothing this team does works.

They go out and get a bunch of deep threat WRs - but they can't throw deep because the QB sucks and the OL won't hold up.

They come out in power formation trying to run the ball, but they can't get a f#cking yard. Nobody knows who/how to block. The hole isn't there, some no name defender shoots gap and kills play. And of course the RB is pedestrian at best.

Defensively, they get some "studs" up front and try to pressure with their front 4 and NOTHING. Backed up the BRINKS truck for Burns and burned a #5 overall on Thibs. NOTHING. That's just as crippling as the DJ contract.

Spend a bunch of resources on the secondary and they still can't cover DESPITE the fact they're dropping 7 into coverage.

And special teams still suck too.

Agreed. Only guy in the front line to come away with a pat on the butt yesterday rather than needing a kick up it was Dexter. That's a lot of money being paid to get one QB hit from two OLB's

I'll hold off on bashing Burns. It's one game in a new system with a new team.

Kayvon, on the other hand, needs to develop something to go with his speed outside rush. He has no power, no swim move, no spin move, no nothing other than speed. Push him wide and he's not a factor. Stonewall him and he's not a factor.

One-trick pony so far.

Tim: This was what worried me most about drafting Kayvon. He is a good man, so a good Giant, but...  Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Giant Obsession

sorry,

but kayvon is just a tick above average NFK player.  sure he will have his moments but by and large for where he was drafted I consider him a bust..

Burns, well it was documented in some articles that Carolina was offered 2 #1 picks for Burns the previous year.  And we get him for a 2 and 5.

And there ain't nothing about the Vikings OL that sends fear throughout the league.

The judging of talent (both college and pro level) leaves much to be desired.  `

but hey, we got quality wideouts ....for  all the good that is doing us.

Kayvon did make the stat sheet though, he had a face mask call that gave the Vikes a first down on 3rd and 16.  Great game!

And in the locker room he looked like an ass with his answers to the press (who were mocking him by laughing)

Yesterday's game was as bad as Evan Neal's stinkers at RT.

Not off to a good start.

Not going to get to crazy after one game, but it wasn't good for either of them.  Burns at least had some tackles, one for loss and a pressure that caused an incomplete pass.  Certainly the performance you want from a $30 million/year guy, but it was one game.

Thibs recorded 0 tackles.  Didn't even get an assist falling on a pile.  I would think that's almost hard to do.

That all being said, I will repeat what I have said all offseason:  Burns and Thibs are pass rushers.  When the team is down 2 scores in the first half consistently, pass rushers are not going to get the best opportunities to show what they are good at.  Obviously the offense cannot be blamed for defensive failures like getting stops, but there is a big difference as a pass rusher to be up 2 scores in the 2nd half rather than down that much.  Neither is a particularly good run defender and it showed.

uconn: Yeah, same old Giants.  Can't keep it close for more than 1/2 of the first quarter. There are very few game plans that work when you get down but two or more scores before half time. Bob

Kayvon needs to take accountability and responsibility. Period.

The way he has reacted post game in his interviews is unacceptable.

Burns got paid big bucks; Deliver. Period.
