Cant have any faith in the Giants to, although could the offense be any worse? Washington has been the one team DJ can beat

Jets should do enough to thwart the Titans.. and I like the Colts with Love out. Anybody who plays the Panthers every week I'll pick.

I never thought to look for that...I'll have to go back for another viewing.

There's a reason you're my favorite uncle :).  However, I think you would greatly benefit from the All-22 NFL+ package, which offers you a coach's view.  The Giants routes were as simple as possible; IMO, too simple.  It was clear DJ was working with one side of the field, as you could see his progression was limited to one or two reads.  Trust me when I say it can't get any simpler, Uncle M! This offense looks very similar to 2022.

Thanks buddy  ;)

We will see. This stuff is really nuanced on what simpler or better fitting for the players skillsets can look like quite honestly.

Did he get a good read of the room and recognize the game-plan needs to be further tailored for everyone? I dunno, these are just theories really. DJ could absolutely be cooked at this point. I am certainly not encouraged by week 1 but I do like Daboll taking the blame. When Coughlin did it and made changes (which Strahan talked about it) it led to a Super Bowl and Eli playing a lot better in 2007. When Fassell did it also lead to a super bowl in 2000. Not saying this is remotely the case here but when the coach takes accountability and hears his players (especially this early) it sometimes leads to pretty nice turnarounds for a team.

I am kinda in wait and see approach right now but I'm of the attitude if we have entirely lost hope why even bother watching the games?

Quote from: T200 on September 10, 2024, 11:25:51 AMI agree with you but it has a short shelf life. Once teams figured out Jones can't/won't throw deep, they adjusted how they play him. So if they know he's not going deep, why do you think defenders consistently jump the short routes? They KNOW that's where he's going with the ball.

I don't think the game-plan was overly complicated for I see Ghosts Darnold and O'Connell did a masterful job of setting up plays and scheming guys open. Daboll is capable of the same and he showed it with a much less overall talented offense in 2022. The offensive line while not great this game was so much better than what they showed in 2023 under Booby (except for Van Roten - he was horrible).

I still am very optimistic that Bricillo can turn the offensive line around. I think the RBC will excel and hopefully provide some consistent protection for Jones so he can be a little more confident in the pocket and not look to cut and run if his primary read isn't there.

I thought 4 of the 5 guys were average or a little better than that, which is worlds better than under Booby where 4 of the 5 or all 5 were absolute abominations. Van Roten was the only rotten apple. 2 of those sacks were more coverage sacks or partially due to DJ.
