That's not the point!!! People need to stop creating endless new threads and use an existing. Otherwise it reaks of shouting to the moon to get your point across instead of being part of a good discussion.

My suggestion to the Mods is to just have 1 season long Jones thread and delete all newly created ones. This is what every other sports forum I follow does.

I'd agree.  It would limit the clutter and let the sake conversation run.

I hope one day Schoen or Daboll writes a tell all. Publicly Schoen has all the decision making power but Mara's lament that he will never get over Barkley being an Eagle on hard knocks tells us he exerts influence by making his position known in an unpleasant way.

When we consider that Schoen went from thinking that Jones was unworthy of having his option picked you to giving him a really nice deal after a mediocre season, you have to wonder if Mara is meddling behind the scenes. Perhaps Daboll is refusing to lift a finger and make a change as a subtle f.u. to Mara. You caused this mess and I'm gonna let you sit in your soiled diaper until it hurts.

Dab's is way too smart of an offensive mind to stick with Jones at this point. He sees all the warts in his game and still won't pull the trigger. I suspect he's waiting for John to push for it. Jones and Barkley were both of Mara's man crushes.

I'd agree with you if the 49 other threads weren't receiving heavy traffic. But since they are, they will continue to be crafted

Excellent post. No wonder from me, Mara wanted him signed, the 2 yr out is the compromise. However Mara did give Schoen the blessing to get a QB in the draft(Maye) if possible. If it's true what you say about Dabol giving a subtle fu to Mara, then recall McAdoo begging the FO to trade up for Mahomes. Pulling Eli was Mac's fu. Think about how different the current, and historical effect on the NFL would be had Mahomes been a Giant.

I don't think Mahomes would be in the running to challenge for GOAT had he been drafted by the Giants.

All else being equal, maybe not.  BUT, there would be a butterfly effect.  Obviously, it would all be hypothetical. He sat for a season in KC.  How long would he have sat here?  Would he have played earlier in 2017, won a few more games and not been in a position to draft Barkley?  If they drafted Barkley, how does the combo of him and Mahomes click?  McAdoo may still be the coach, Reese may still be the GM and so forth.

@files58  I never heard the part about McAdoo begging to draft Mahomes. Can you tell us more?  Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

There are a few solutions.

Merge topics (which happens but not nearly often)
Create a season long Jones thread stickied at the top of page 1
Lock unnecessary newly created threads

Unfortunately the some of the people with this power are the ones creating insane amount of new threads. I just wish this forum was more organized.

Why are you so triggered by multiple threads regarding a hot topic? You've made your feelings known but complaining about it in multiple threads just pushes the topic to the top of the list. You may not have created the thread but you're participating in them and feeding the fire.

Well I was waiting for a mod to reply. Now how about addressing my suggestions.

I just did address it.

You're making a mountain out of a molehill. Do we discourage multiple threads on the same subject? Of course. But it happens, especially with more hot topics.

While the subject may be the same, there are different aspects that don't fall into other threads.

If the the flow and feel of other boards are more to your liking, enjoy them.

But no need to come here to call out the owner, mods, and members because multiple threads on the same subject rub you the wrong way. No one is being disrespected by these threads.

If you're not satisfied with my response, feel free to take it up with Ed.

I would agree with DJ threads that were all about bitching sessions, but if there is a nuance and it presents a worthwhile discussion, then it's appropriate for the new thread. It's not the fault of the OP if some go off-topic, but if you see, Rich then attempted to reign it in.

The problem I've found restricting an "In Season" DJ thread is that it's difficult to follow the discussion in a melting pot. I do however appreciate your concern for the site. That means something to me. Thank you.

IMO, putting all the DJ stuff in one big thread would be the opposite of organized.
