As many of you know  this is my 83d year following this team   I dont think I ever remember losing to a team that kicked SEVEN field goals while we did'nt have a kicker

I dont get why so many of you are so willing to let Daboll off the hook??  Gano was hurt SATURDAY--we got pre game reports that he was grimacing in pain in warmups--WE have a kicker on the Practice Squad>  And now I just read that we had a 52 man roster to start the game--If that isnt coaching malpractice I dont know what is!!!!!

I know that there is a thread suggesting that Daboll should be fired immediately--To me every member who has been on the board post game should have given a huge yes to that--I didnt because I am starting this and asking   What am I missing?  Why should I not add my Yes to that thread>??

Am I just too old and past my time??

I completely agree with you; prudence suggest you sign another kicker and get yourself a damn security policy...it's not like Gano hasn't had an injury history over the last 4 years.

I also believe this is why Daboll got so furious with the reporter who asked about the status of his job. He literally glared at him for the next question and as he walked off stage. Daboll should keep the intimidation to the field

Yep, that's my point...they knew on Saturday.  You add him to active roster and you accept risk somewhere else; I would have deactivated a cb against a rookie qb making his 2d start, but that's just me. 

And this is why I'm generally against a head coach also pulling coordinator duties. It's just too much to handle.

Regarding Gano, did the ST coach strongly suggest to Daboll to bring up the extra kicker from the PS just in case?

I think Daboll may have bitten off more than he can chew. If they don't start collecting some Ws, the calls for his head will only get louder as the season goes on.

I don't think you're missing anything.  This is a team lacking talent in many areas.  We know this.  With that we should be most concerned with who's running the show and if they can build a team that can start competing again.

Hell, they could have activated my Polish 55-year-old a$$, replacement knee, ankles and all, and even I would have kicked the team to victory today!!!

But our Irish kicker, waiting in the wings, should be the guy going forward. He looked great in the pre-season.

If you've been reading any of my stuff for almost the past year you haven't missed a thing.

Three strikes and your out......
Strike ONE -- opening night at home against Dallas
Strike TWO --  Buffalo.  One yard for the win twice and your all world RB does not touch the ball

Strike THREE -- Jets game.  Again one yard to finish the game and you send out your injured kicker while this same all world RB that was so important to us stands on the sideline.

Dabsy is the new poster child for the Peter Principle.  In spades.

I really don't know what the true relationship is between Schoen and Daboll but Daboll should be called into Schoen's office first thing tomorrow AM and be made to explain this travesty.
I have never heard something like this in all the years I have watched football. Daboll just doesn't seem to have the full capability to run this football team as it's head coach.
He needs to be called out to the GM to explain how we lost this game because Daboll wasn't prepared for all emergencies.
