Well.maybe next year

Eagles fans just got to see what we felt for years watching Saquon drop passes in big spots. What a great start to the week!

And Cousins is a helluva QB in a big spot. He has such a confident posture overall. And DBs aren't able to over anticipate with him.

Giant Obsession

Cousins was a 4th round pick by the Redskinsout of Michigan State.

Same draft Redskins traded THREE 1st round draft picks for the right to draft RG III.

Just sayin' :)

The Giants are one game out of first place, and their Defense has given up the least amount of points in the Division.

It almost seemed to me that the Eagles were giving up chunk plays to get Atlanta to score quickly so they could get the ball back and win the game with a FG. Hurts played an incredibly courageous game with Brown out and to be intercepted because his arm was hit while Cousins was the hero in prime time, was an unlikely ending to that game.

This reminds me of Graham so much

His defense did not give up "a lot " of points but it was clearly a major reason for the team sucking

If a team knows they are going to score every drive ... even if it's just a field goal ... they easily control the tempo of the game and almost dictate the TOP

That whole least amount of points is 3 layers of lipstick on a pig right now

If we can win this week and Dallas and then Philly lose then....

If the line continues to provide solid blocking and protection, Jones should be able to get comfortable and find open receivers. I'm still sticking by my pre-season statement that our RBC will have more rushing yards than Saquon.

This offense can put up 3+ TDs a game.

If "ifs and buts" were "candies and nuts," then,

- Giant players would know when their injuries are hurting the team and would sit down instead of trying to be a hero (i.e. Gano)

- the head coach would give the team the best chance to win by declaring 53 players, instead of 52, and address injury risk properly

- the medical staff would not make the same mistake twice in allowing a kicker to play on a bad hammie (i.e. Ali Haji-Sheikh in 1985, Graham Gano in 2024).

All of which adds up to a well deserved 0-2 and a bleeding RED for Strategic Imperative #2: Close the gap between the Giants and their KEY division rivals. They had that chance on Sunday and blew it by losing to the other team in the division they are more than capable of beating, but did not.

An opportunity lost in a season they must capture every one presented to them.

Now THAT'S perspective!

Peace!

Agreed. I had felt same way about our RBs. But the key to Jones elevating himself will be utilizing the TE in the passing game as Nabers does his part in providing jones the confidence he so desperately needs

To me, the key for Jones is developing some confidence and trust in his line.

The past few years we've all been saying that Jones needs protection up front and a true #1 receiver. It's never been about the TE. After two games, it appears he has the two biggest components that were missing from previous years. He now has to trust them and elevate his game.

What happened to giving the Defense a few games to work out the kinks? In 2007 the Giants gave up 80 points after the first two games. I'm not saying that there will be comparable seasons, but to jump like Rats leaving a sinking ship after two games is extreme to me. I'm not targeting you, it just seems like the entire Giants Nation is ready to fire Daboll and his staff, after it was accepted that the team was at least a year away.

Now ask me again after they lose in Cleveland...

I didn't mean to imply it was ever about the TE position previously. What I mean is the middle is wide open and soft and Jones can easily and effectively make those passes. Much like Mahomes does, use the middle to open up the rest. I believe it will really give him confidence as a QB. It happened many years ago with Phil Simms. Once he utilized the TE (Bavaro and Mowatt) he really took off and began to look "different". People forget that fans wanted Simms out of this town for a long time. He changed when he gained confidence and his TE guys and of course the oline and RB were a big part of that

I get it. My point was that once he first gains confidence in the line, the rest of his game *SHOULD* fall into place, to include finding the TEs.

I can envision wonderful over the middle throwsnto both Bellinger and Theo. It's frustrating as hell they won't even "attempt" it
