We saw a drastically more confident offense from DJ to the running game to the WRs.

This was closer to 2022 when it was simpler reads, more designed plays to get guys open, and relying on the play-calling more-so than the QB having to decipher too much stuff on the field and be perfect.

Loved what Daboll did this week at least from a play-calling standpoint on offense!

That said it's one game. We need to see DJ build on this moving forward. However now I am confident Daboll has realized what he really needs to do for this offense to be it's most successful with DJ as it's QB.

 How much fruit that will bear is something we must wait and see.

Can DJ bring it against a good defense? Well with a better blocking OL and play-calling designed to certain guys open in routes as the primary read more often , it's at least more possible than we may have thought previous.

If he's protected, he can be lethal. That along with his legs will turn this Offense around. Put pressure on him and he folds. The key is the Oline.

A fifth is like a UFA to me. Miami should make that happen. He might flourish there. I haven't see Young in a game yet since he's been drafted.

There are a number of pretty good QBs in the NFL that run somewhat 'simpler' offenses.  Hurts , Goff, Mayfield etc.

It kind of a combination of just figuring out what works best for your QB and doing your best to construct that environment around him.

My best guess here but I really think Daboll quickly realized the stuff he was trying to run with DJ was not ideal and kind of went more like 2022. Not an exact analogy but the adjusting to stuff the guys can just go out and ball really paid off (at least last week)

Also if he makes Bowen do the same thing might now be in order too! Not necessarily simplify but to get tighten that soft zone stuff . Its Tim Lewis maddening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As we both know a second is an absolute eternity in this context.

My take on Daboll is he is desperate and looked at that defensive performance again on tape and probably puked.

If he was quick to make adjustments to how he schemed the offense after week 1 , I bet after those 2 defensive performances he will be in Bowen's office basically demanding changes.

A obvious one I believe will be tighter coverage not just more man but the zones and off coverage looks won't be nearly as wide gapped as before.

Let's see if this is the case as the Browns will no doubt be a tougher test than the Redskins.

I believe the Week 1 disaster was largely Flores absolutely confounding Daboll and DJ from beginning to end.  When DJ dropped back to throw, he didn't see anything like what he prepared for while watching film all week.

After watching what Minny did to the Niners this could absolutely be part of the reason too. Flores has been coaching lights out so far.
