If the game last week seemed odd, it was. The list below shows the number of possessions in regulation for each Team in Week 2. There was a lot of discussion after the week about how teams are running the ball more and passing less. For the Giants and Commanders, it was two teams who couldn't stop the run, couldn't turn the other team over much, and couldn't stop the other team. The clock runs and the drives seem like they take forever.

If it seemed like the Giants never had the ball, they didn't. More accurately, they had it less than every other team in the league. Washington was only slightly better in that regard.

The Giants still have no identity on offense or defense.

Somewhere, from a cloud in the distance, I can hear the voice of Howard Cosell describing them as "The hapless New York Football Giants!"

History is indeed repeating itself and the ghosts have joined in the chorus. Who would have thought another Wilderness era would befall us?

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

I kind of think they do and , it is a running team and, rpo running qb. The problem is it's just effective and the passing game is rally sub par. It also assumes you have a really good defense; which who knows if the giants have one or not.

The other part of this is good defense or or not — and look the jets as an example—if you're team is doing three and outs constantly on offense/ have no offense —- you're defense is going to get tired.

As has often been the case of late, one of the goals each season is to keep Washington in their place. The Giants just gave them a foothold to crawl out.

Good morning, Mitch @bamagiantfan , and thank you for reading my mind.

The last time the Giants blew a game like this against Washington, Week #2 of the 2021 season, a 29-30 loss, well, we all know how that season played out and what happened to the head coach. It's an eerie premonition, but they will either quelch it in a hurry or things will go the way of the Judge real quickly.

If they cannot piece it together and win tomorrow, and Dallas pulls another 0-40 on Thursday night, well, the ghost of Howard might need to come up with new cliches to describe the dumpster fire in September which would be unprecedented with the exception of Bill Arnsparger in 1976 and, perhaps, Ray Perkins' first year, in 1979.

If ever there was a must win to save the season in Week #3, this is it.

Peace!
