My biggest concern for the Dallas game is the 3 injured CBs

rookie phenom Dru Phillip (calf) usually is in the slot

Veteran Adoree Jackson (calf), number 2 CB

Nick McCloud (knee), the new jack of all trades CB

They are all injured.  McCloud was limited yesterday, and the other two did not practice.

Dallas is too talented for the Giants to go into the game, missing so many CBS.  They really could use two of them healthy for Thursday nightttt

Rich: Me too. Precisely the wrong time to have so many DB's injured or hurting.

My remark is a bit broader than yours, inasmuch as it relates to all DB's, not just to CB's.

Defensive backfield was thin (and young) to start with, but recent events made things worse all over.

Bob

PS. As a result, IMO, we need an unheard-of number of points to win this game (at least 31 - just guessing).
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

And considering they always seem to gash us in the passing game in recent years this really stinks. We might see a lot less blitzing out there because Dak is most definitely better than this current version of Deshaun Watson and while their OL isn't great it's probably better overall than Cleveland's was.

I still think we need to blitz but it will need to be better disguised and used more judiciously.

Clev actually has one of the NFLs best OL; last week, the Giants caught a break when 4 of 5 Clev starters were out, including thier AP Jack Conklin, who's the NFL best LT.  There was a reason our DL finally looked good...by the second half they were playing mostly backups.

Rich,

Do you think any of the three may play Thur night?

Maybe McCloud.  Calves are pretty tricky and usually can take time to heal.  I guess we will see if Hawkins can make the most of another chance (along with Flott, who will hopefully stay healthy).

Bob,

Here's the thing.  Dallas has done very poorly stopping the run.  If the Giants hope to win, it will be by running the ball down the Cowboy's throats.  If Dallas starts scoring and makes it a shoot out, I am not liking NYG's chances

Yup I was referring to what Cleveland had out there on Sunday. Totally healthy it's a pretty good OL.

Rich: Good thought. Successful implementation of that idea would obviate the need for scoring 31 points. Bob

Looks like the offense may have to be very productive in this game. The good news for them is they're going up against a defense that has been nothing short of horrific the last two weeks.

Spot on, Rich; thier def is really athletic, but they're not overly physical, which has been thier achilles heel over the last 5/6 seasons.  They've attempted to address the issue with mult DT, but have failed each time...as you stated, you can run on them.  The question remains, do the Giants actually have the Oline/running game to take advantage of Dal weakness?  I suspect we'll see a lot of runs from DJ this week too.

Trying to be positive but Flott has moments of playing fairly well but is pretty inconsistent. Hopefully we get the good Flott tomorrow. McCloud is a bit underrated to me. I think he can be a fairly good cover guy.

The guy we really need tomorrow is Banks to limit Lamb as much as possible. He probably won't lock him down but he needs to more like how he played JJ and McLaurin vs Cooper who kind of ate his lunch.
