He's been a huge disappointment. I liked him when he showed promise early on at Clemson but his last year exposed him as suspect.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

I had no idea.

I do know I didn't like Lawrence as 1st overall draft pick.

I thought he'd be ok generally in the NFL, and I guess that has happened (approximately).

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Wow you really have a hard-on for Trev Lawrence huh? This is like Deja vu all over again. I think Trev Lawrence has played almost as many games despite being drafted 2 years after Jones. His numbers are also dragged down from when he was a rookie. A guy who showed up on a team that was like 0-16 or whatever the year before he showed up. Would you trade Jones for him straight up?

In case anyone thought the meme was hyperbolic in characterizing some fans as essentially seeing the same performance, with one QB being called "a generational talent" and the other "the worst QB ever," here is the evidence to the contrary

Lawrence has thrown for 3600, 4100, and 4000 yards since entering the NFL in 2021 (each of which is more than Jones' career high of 3200). How exactly did this account manage to find he only passed for 2942 per season?

Yup, sure looks like some disinformation.  Even if you count the 3 2024 games as a whole year he is still over 3000 yards per.  I guess maff is hard.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

What this doesn't tell you, is that Daniel Jones played 10 additional games for those barely better stats

In his last 8 games as a starter... Trevor Lawrence is....

0-8

Trevor Lawrence stinks as a pro. Anyone who still calls him a "generational talent" in 2024 is completely lost, and that's putting it as politely as I can. The tweet in the OP is in no way a compliment to Jones, unless you're living in the past about Lawrence. As a pro, Mitch Trubisky is also about the same stat profile as these two. It's not where you want to be.

Now aren't we happy and grateful that Daniel Jones is the Giants QB and not Trevor Lawrence. I mean see how much better the Giants have been with Jones. Whew dodged a bullet there. Not that the Giants were ever considering Lawrence or could consider him. So there's that too

Fletch

Next thing you know you're going to have people comparing him to Joe Burrow. WTF? :surprise:  :surprise:

I don't know about better off, but I'd rather be the Giants with their contract situation with Jones than the Jags with their contract situation with Lawrence. Unless Lawrence suddenly plays much, much, much better, which doesn't seem to be happening, they're in a clearly worse position than we are from that perspective.

Bad contracts abound. What difference does it make to the Giants that the Jags screwed up? Just win.
