The past five quarterbacks drafted No. 1 overall have a combined 2-12 record as starters this season:
Cardinals' Kyler Murray (1-2)
Bengals' Joe Burrow (0-3)
Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence (0-3)
Panthers' Bryce Young (0-2)
Bears' Caleb Williams (1-2)

Not sure what to make of that, but I guess getting the no.1 QB in the draft doesn't guarantee things

The Giants became the first team in NFL history to score three touchdowns, allow zero touchdowns and lose in regulation (21-18) in Week 2

The Saints are the highest scoring team in the league thus far, and the toast of the town.

"The Saints made a bold move by firing Pete Carmichael — the NFL's longest-tenured offensive coordinator — after 15 seasons and replacing him with Klint Kubiak, the latest mind plucked off of 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. To watch his schemes, you'd think you woke up 20 years in that past. The early results include an NFC-best 34.3 points per game, Carr leading the league with 9.1 yards per pass attempt, Kamara leading with 417 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns and a 2-1 start marred only by a last-minute loss to the Eagles.

"The big thing is that they got away from what they were doing, which was basic West Coast offense," claims NBC Sports NFL analyst Chris Simms. "You've got defensive coaches in football like [the Cowboys'] Mike Zimmer who go, 'I know the rules of the West Coast offense better than the guys calling the plays. I coached against [creator] Bill Walsh in the 1980s.' It's just too basic and too simple."

In a league where most offenses are abandoning tight ends and fullbacks to get more speed on the field, Kubiak is attacking defenses differently without sacrificing speed.

The Saints have used "21" personnel (two running backs, one tight end, two receivers), "12" personnel (one running back, two tight ends, two receivers) and "22" personnel (two running backs, two tight ends and one receiver) on a combined 64.2 percent of their offensive snaps — well above league average and in line near the top with Shanahan's 49ers.

"It's an offense that makes you defend the whole field," said Simms, a former NFL quarterback who now is one of the best tape-grinding analysts. "They are great in the run game, great at taking shots down the field, great at making plays that make it look like they are going to take a shot down the field and then throwing a screen to Kamara. They are going to be able to get teams to go into a base defense because they are in a base offense and then they shift into the slot and you go, 'Uh oh.'

The real imprint of the Shanahan offense on the Saints, however, is the dominant offensive line. Rookie left tackle Taliese Fuaga brought a contagious nastiness and allowed disappointing left tackle Trevor Penning to get a fresh start at right tackle. Fuaga, Penning, guard Cesar Ruiz and center Erik McCoy (as well as injured All-Pro right tackle Ryan Ramczyk) are all former top-50 draft picks.

"Their offensive line is for real," Simms said. "That's the biggest thing. They are all athletic, all powerful. They can move people off the line of scrimmage and create holes. All defensive coordinators say, 'We've got to stop the run,' once the run starts going."

The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

To me what it is showing is that this is a total team game, and the QB is just one player but can't do it alone.

He needs the other 52 players to buy in and perform at a high level, or else you get the results that you posted up above.

Yes.  He is most important but cant win on his own.
