While I agree those are bad numbers it does seem like they are saying the Giants are 2nd worst after 4 games when every other team but one has played 3.

I heard that after 3 games they were 2nd worst, so I didn't think it was a big deal.

Is there a way to know where we rank in drops for past few years with Jones as QB?

H-Town G-Fan

Giants are also second in the league for pass attempts (entering today and likely to maintain or be around that rank after this week). More attempts mean more drops.

Jones throws a strange ball sometimes where it has a very downward trajectory. I believe this contributes to some drops. He also is extremely inaccurate as so many times our receivers have to reach back to make the catch and there are many drops in this scenario.

Thats why I'm curious where we rank in drops for the entire jones tenure.

Get rid of Nabers. I mean he just drops too many ball.

I hope he wasn't over targeted by the defense knowing the ball is almost always going in his direction. That would increase chance for injury. Daboll and jones need to spread it out more to open things up also

Trench: True but consider that in NFL defenders are super-smart compared to most college players.

NFL QBs have to contend with guys planting themselves in the most likely passing lanes. Other factors should also be considered, such as increased number of route-options per receiver, which often causes a QB (out of necessity) to throw a bad ball (or a ball that's not where the QB optimally would like to have thrown it). This is why pocket movement is far more important in NFL than college. Often, a small adjustment in the pocket can make better (or more) passing lanes available.

Right now, I lean toward the conclusion that Jones is in the bottom half of all starters with regard to overall accuracy, but want to point out Daboll just went out of his way (after Thursday's game) to say in his post-game press conference that Jones (in the past three games) has been throwing the ball (paraphrasing) "where it's supposed to be." IMO that may (or may not) include throwing with reasonable accuracy, although (to be fair) Daboll's wording probably can also be read to mean nothing more than Jones has been throwing to the correct receiver.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!
