Now there are rumors that he's a trade candidate. What happened to this kid? Can't learn the route tree? Won't put the work in? Did he end up in Daboll's doghouse? I'm kind of surprised this hasn't been talked about more.

I probably listen to as many Giants insiders as anyone, and what is going on with Hyatt still remains a mystery

It's really strange. I'm curious why reporters haven't probed this more aggressively. Probably slipped through the cracks with Nabers and Robinson producing.

Only one thing has been obvious, instead of having a widely anticipated breakout season- with or without the addition of Nabers, in 4 games, Hyatt has had 0 catches on all of 3 targets without the slightest hint as to why it has been so. And so now, speculation is being directed to his putative trade value. Not a good look for either or both the player and the team.

Cheers!

He's primarily a deep threat and Jones can't throw the deep ball competitively right now. Oil and water.

I think the offense they wanted in the offseason--the deep passing attack we constantly heard about--isn't what materialized once real games started and they've had to adjust. Now the offense is centered around the short passing game (effectively an extension of the running attack). Hyatt doesn't really fit into that.

He'll get an opportunity this week with Nabers out.

It almost feels like something happened internally and nobody wants to mention it but it is resulting in him not playing.  Either that or he is dealing with something personal.

No way it is talent related.

The kid is basically Mecole Hardman or any one of the other deep threat guys. He suits Brian Dabolls offense really well, however he doesn't fit what our Qb is capable of doing.

Let's also remember that he's only a 3rd round pick, yes he had monster production in college and slipped in the draft.

As others have said, Jones is not a fit for his skillset, it doesn't mesh well.

Hopefully the next QB can make better use of his talents.

I continue to see this reiterated that it is assumed that Daniel Jones will not be the QB next year.

When in fact Daboll has publicly said he's been locked in the last 3 games.

He posted a 96.6 RTG, and a 4 TD to 1 Int ratio during those games, he's been very good in those games.

He also has a great connection with Nabers

As far as Hyatt goes, I believe because the Giants already have Wandale, Malik, and Slayton, Hyatt has been the odd man out, but if Nabers can't go, he will get his shot

Do you honestly think the coach is going to publicly state to the masses that his QB sucks and is gone next year? Of course he is goign to say the opposite, cmon now

And when you throw 40% of your balls towards someone, its hard to call that a connection, its simply volume, and locking on to your primary read because he cant read a defense.

The only think he is locked in on is another teams bench next year, or maybe he can start for the titans or something.

We got rid of one guy that didn't produce to the Chiefs. They sure neef another WR right about now.

We could get good value for him from a team that needs WRs desperately
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Dabolls been very transparent with regards to DJ. When he's played bad, he's said so, and when he plays well, he defends him.

Over the last 3 games it's been the latter and not the former, and his statement that he's been locked in is not a lie, but the truth.
