Small sample size and early days, but those second and fives make a difference.

Rich,

I think DS goes back to the role he's accustomed to and good at; secondary rb on a pitch count. You and I have discussed wanting to see more Tracy for a few weeks.  I'd like to see that continue.

As we have all discussed, Singletary has never been a bell-cow lead back and never will be. And yet that's what he was being asked to do here. Tracy's day today hopefully will alleviate their need to overuse Singletary. If Tracy continues to play like he did today, then I'm sure it won't be long before he is the clear go-to guy.

I don't see Singletary losing his "starting" role while injured, but I imagine Tracy will have a lot more called for him going forward. And that's a good thing.

I would expect to see a higher snap count going forward.  And if the success continues I would expect his snap count to be higher than Singletary's in the not too distant future.

Definitely need to see more of Tracy and less of Gray.

It's one game. I'd pump the brakes.

Singletary "almost" broke several runs in first few games.

Kid played great. So did Gray early on.

You can thank the Oline and particularly JMS and the Guards for what you are seeing.

Ed Vette

It definitely elevated him past Gray. I think Tracy was more patient and created opportunities for himself and the 8 Rushing First Downs was a key factor in the win. Without watching the film, I thought the Offensive Line had their best all purpose game. That's a huge story too.

He has a higher ceiling than Singletary and he is the future if he can continue and be consistent. I think they will split time and whoever the hot hand is, that's who will get the majority of carries.

I was thinking the same as I was watching the game.  At the very least he has earned more carries next week if Singletary is back than he normally would get.

The answer to the question in the original post is... yes, if we played Seattle every week.

Since we don't, the answer is... he's as good as our starter (different style, but good).

Seems he watched tape of himself and decided he needed to be more decisive.  So far, so good.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

It seems like it has been forever since a non-2nd overall pick running back has made an impact as a rookie. It's about time. I look forward towards the Tracy era. And if you play fantasy he will be the #1 waiver wire pickup this week.

I thought he was great but let's not order his bust for Canton or order a gold jacket yet.

We probably see a fairer share of carries in a true platoon coming off this game. I suspect who is the lead guy will depend game to game on the game plan and opponent characteristics, ant least initially. If Tracy can put more strong efforts on tape he should emerge as the lead guy next season given youth and explosiveness.
