6 sacks in five games is ridiculous, even for him. The scheme is helping him (more times off nose) but he is being double teamed at a ridiculous rate (making Burns, Thibodeaux limited impact even more glaring). He is easily the best player at his position in the NFL.
If you live your life as a pessimist you never really live your life at all.

Sexy Dexy is a beast, I would not say Burns has a limited impact, sacks aren't everything. But yes aside from Chris Jones, I don't think anyone else can make a claim at being the best as DT.

gregf

He's been amazing.   I hope his snaps are managed to not burn him out. We now have 2 guys, Dex and Nabers, who can take over a game. Considering how big he is, his motor and hustle are outstanding.

Dex is an impressive player who impacts games far more than many appreciate.   A truly impressive pick by David Gettleman

It appears to me the Giants are managing his snap count (gets me annoyed but they know best)...he seems to be lining up in different spots on the line and even stunting pre snap. I've never seen us do that with him and it's a fascinating look and it certainly affects the oline. I see this as something we are getting better and better at as the season progresses.

Ion a separate note, I don't know if anyone is more critical of Thibs than me and he must begin to do more. But yesterday he seemed to get closer to the QB than in previous games.

Those stunts were a bit of a double-edged sword.  I am pretty sure a couple of Geno's big runs were the result of Geno taking advantage of the vulnerabilities created by such stunts

And thanks to the broadcasting crew we learned a lot about his wife who is an executive Chef!

Dex is the best Giants defender I've seen since Strahan. Only person to come close would be JPP in 2011, but that was one season. This three-year run from Dex is unlike anything I can remember since 92 hung up his cleats.

Hmmm....didn't think about that

I saw Davidson pop a few times yesterday. Chatman as well.

I think Dex is rubbing off on these young players.

Davidson had 0.5 career sacks.  Yesterday he added two more to his total.

Comparisons to Strahan and JPP are fine in their impact and greatness but they were Edge rushers. A better comp would be great interior linemen of the past like Keith Hamilton, Snacks, Jim Burt. I'm sure I am missing a few.
