This team will never be able to crawl out of the hole it is in with first and second round draft picks alone. There have been a lot more Lemieuxs, McKethans, and Laulettas than McFaddens and Slaytons with third day picks in the draft. That has been a big part of the problem. I'm rooting for Tracy (....and Johnson, Muasau, Gray, and Davidson.) We need quality play from him and the others.

Consistency of production from 2nd rounders and farther out would be welcome relief. We will not make playoffs if these kinds of picks dont produce.

I agree that this is a huge and somewhat underappreciated (or not as talked about) driver of our team's general ineptitude over the past decade. You don't have to hit day three guys every single year but it needs to be at a materially higher rate than we have.

Also I saw a highlight of tiki yesterday during the game where he switched the ball to his other arm while running. We need more of this. Coughlin taught it so I wanna see Daboll give him a call and ask for advice or help on this

Thank you for calling out precisely what I've been thinking about regarding Singletary's ball handling skills! You would think, by now, this would be in Running Back 101 school, no?

Peace!

Are Singletary's fumbling issues a recent phenomenon or a problem throughout his career?

Prior to coming to the Giants he had 14 fumbles in 5 years.

I actually have liked Gray the best this year when he has the ball in his hands. Obviously he has to keep the ball in his hands. I haven't been able to find anything on whether he had fumbling issues in Tennessee or Oklahoma, but whether he truly fumbled at the goal line or not, he put the ball at risk, and that needs to stop.

With Jones' past fumbling history and Gray's and Singletary's start to the season, I expect this is getting a lot of attention at practice this week. They are literally fumbling away games and putting themselves in a hole early too often.
