SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

Rich: I agree (and focused on him in re-watching the game). I always like his chances with the team.

The bad news... his body is still the same size as when he was 16 years old. lol

They can't play him on windy days... he might blow away.

Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

I bet he has to run around the shower to get wet.

Remember when we convinced ourselves size didn't matter when Emmanuel Forbes was a potential pick?  Of course he hasn't played all that well for the Commanders who drafted him before the Giants (who settled on Banks)

Rich: Knowing Wink, if the Giants had traded up to the Commanders' spot they would have taken Banks.  Banks was who he wanted (you can tell by his reaction after the pick... he was truly thrilled). Bob

I am one of those fans who openly campaigned for and wanted us to draft Forbes. I've followed his career, and now I'm very happy we got Banks instead. I don't think Forbes' problems are so much his waifish size, but rather his style of play, which is ball hawking instead of just shutting the WR down. By concentrating more on the ball, these wily receivers know how to shake you. What works in college doesn't necessarily translate to the NFL. Regardless, I'm happy that Flott is looking good. I love it when a player starts to come together after a few years in the league and seeing proper training come to fruition. I'm hoping Chapman will be one of those guys
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

As Ted likes to say (and rightly so) teams dont consistently hit on draft picks.  That said, I think teams can go on "runs" like a gambling table where for say 2 years in a row or 2 out of 3, they hit say on 3 draft picks each draft.  Incorporating say 6 youngsters in as effective starters can accelerate a team's upward trajectory.  If Schoen et al nail the 2024 Draft and 2025 with say 3 more good starters, we will be in a good spot.  It will make forget Neal.

I was a huge critic of Flott going into the season. Looks like Daboll got this one right.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."
~ Coach Tom Coughlin

I think Flott is a gamer and just not good in practice but that's what I've always thought.

Ed: He's good but as an OC I would just run at him. Bob

Stringer Bell

Flott has a lot more bad tape out there than good. And while I'm glad he's played a bit better recently, he still has a way to go before I count on him.

Not to mention, in 3 brief games, Phillips already proves to be a more electric, higher ceiling DB than Flott has shown in 3 years. Let's see if Flott's strong play - or even his snaps - remain once Phillips returns.

Quite so, Joseph. Contrary to FOS Mike (not to be confused with a trophy named Vince) Lombardi's nasty comments about Joe Schoen's 2024 Draft of Malik Nabers, Tyler Nubin, Andrew Phillips, Theo Johnson, and Tyrone Tracy, it's beginning to look like a damn good one.

Cheers!

Jess, you were high on Flott in the offseason.  Well done!

I love how our young secondary is performing/growing.

Gotta get past the front seven before it becomes an issue. He's still ridiculously young for a third year player. There were guys in this past draft who are older than he is right now.
