Seems a peculiar question (about the concert). Why would that be an issue?

very loud music and possible vibrations etc. good for a concussion  ?
another # 1 that can't get on the field

Fair enough; that sounds like a reasonable theory or possibility.

I do think the NFL has done quite a bit to make the terms of concussion protocol fairly robust and well-defined though, and if he wasn't in breach I'm not sure there is much of a story here.

No reason to rush him back. He plays a vulnerable position. Another concussion and he's done for the season. And more than that his career will be over.

Why would his career be over after two concussions?

I said more than that. Not two. But if he has several like Tua or anyone else who has had multiple concussions, it becomes something to seriously think about.

Oh, sorry. I misunderstood. I thought you meant "more than that" as in "and also, ..."

My mistake.

I do think that if he suffered another this year, his season would be over. Let's hope that does not happen.

I wouldn't know as I'm not a doctor, but you could very well be right. Regardless, it wouldn't be good, obviously.

How many concussions did Shepard have, and wasn't there a season (perhaps 2019) where he had two?

I don't know but seeing a brain is involved, if it were me there would be no way. But players want to play. They don't think of the long term. But they should.

I don't disagree.

Just out of curiosity though, what are you suggesting they do, exactly? Retire after just one concussion? Retire after two concussions? Sit out a full year with one concussion? Never play football in the first place ?

I'm just curious what you precisely meant when you said they should think more about their futures, a statement I don't disagree with at all in principle.

AZGiantFan

Has the play he got concussed on been identified?
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Not slowing my roll

I have no idea. It's up to the individual. Personally, after two concussions I would begin to worry. Especially in a sport like football.
