Because the team , that is his responsibility sucks and is on their way another lopsided losing season.

How do you like this scenario:

John Mara shares with Schoen he doesn't have a good feeling about losing Barkley.

Schoen moves on from Barkley.

Fast forward to today.

Fast forward again to the end of the year.

Does Mara fire Schoen?

Discuss.

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

Quote from: files58 on October 20, 2024, 03:26:03 PMAll of this is on Mara. His wanting to pay Jones. You can't tell me that Daboll and Schoen both coming from  outside the organization had Jones rated highly coming out of that QB factory(Dave Brown) /sarcasm/ . Poor kid we effed him up says Mara not thinking about the short/long term consequences for his team that he says he loves. Not like we do though where winning is everything. They are winning though, in the past ten years the value of the Giants has increased from $2 Billion to just over $7 Billion. Imagine having a business that consistently(since 1965 their regular season record is 50-55 games under .500) puts out an inferior product yet increases in value threefold.

Boom. Absolutely this.

Any questioning Daboll is delusional and just doesn't want to admit wrong.

He very clearly has to coach with and around Jones weaknesses, deficiencies and inability to play the position.

He has to put lipstick on a pig and people really defend the pig (Jones) instead

Cool.

Counter it with JS not having a good feeling about Jones, hence declining the option.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Both a culpable. But whoever wanted the QB needs to own that.

It's a monumental f-up.

I just want to see Daboll given a chance with his own pick at QB. Only reason I'd be in support of firing him is if Belichick is a confirmed hire.

To be fair to the HC and GM, they did try to replace DJ multiple times.  It just hasn't worked out; however, it should be obvious the last few holdouts, it's going to happen this year.  In fact, I'm not sure DJ survives another game like this, and we have Pitt next.  If they struggle, you'll have to make the change prior to Carolina.

No too many examples of RBs getting hurt losing a step etc for it to be considered a stupid move.

But but but ... when you have an offense that looks like a college offense — resign him please.

A little late for that. Should have happened year one or two.

If that happened then Schoen would defo be on the hot seat.
I'm certain that didn't happen.

I agree with the former, but completely disagree with the latter.  Have you seen the team BB left in NE?  They're worse than us...

So much for a good defense... Good old ass kicking by the Eagles.   Really nothing new.
Team is still a mess ..   that is why there needs to be a change.   GM or HC.  ?
GM isn't going to fire himself....
At the end of the day with Mara in charge. They will never be able to compete in 2024 NFL

It's one game; even the 85 Bears had a bad game (against Mia).  They were completely exposed by a terrible offense today.  The def is VERY young and will fine going forward.
