We were scheduled to get this shot today but on talking with several friends, I have heard there have been some serious health issues associated with this new shot. Has anyone gotten this updated booster?

Has anyone heard of any problems/side effects etc?

I got it and the flu shot 2 days ago.  I had a slight fever the night of and took some advil PM and was fine by morning, except of course some soreness in my arm where the shot went in.

I'm 48 with no health problems, so I guess take that into account.

I got the vaccine a month ago. I felt a little tired and a little achy for two days but that was it.

I got my flu, and Covid shot a week and a half ago.  Other than a slightly sore shoulder for a day, I was none the worse for wear.

I haven't had any COVID boosters since the initial Moderna 2-piece. I've had COVID twice, the most recent following our trip from Germany in August.

Not me.  I never got the covid vaccine or any boosters and I've never a flu shot or the flu.  I got covid in December of 2021, felt lousy for a week, and another week to build back up to full energy.  And I hardly ever get a cold, maybe one every 5-10 years.  I attribute this to 15 years teaching middle school and being exposed to every bug under sun, giving me a very robust immune system
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

No offense meant here, but I would attribute it to just being lucky. I don't know your age at all, but at some point, being 'careful' is more important than being stubborn.
Whether or not people got Covid shots seemed to be more a political thing than a smart thing, but a flu shot is a no-brainer, especially as we age. For us, over 65, they have a more potent flu shot.

And again, please, I am not trying to make fun of you or anything, but I know 4 people who I would have considered close enough friends, who also didn't think they needed a COVID shot, sadly they are pushing up daisies now.

We all live our lives the way we feel is best, if that's your thing, all the power to you. My wife worked as a para in an elementary school, and the things she caught from many of the kids, well she and I are glad she was done with this for over 10 years now.

I got every COVID shot, and every booster shot...and still got COVID last year that set me back a couple of weeks from being sick...and that was during Christmas and that was after I got the booster shot the same week as Thanksgiving, just a month earlier  :-??

I got my regular flu shot last week, and I told the nurse administering the shot that maybe I should get the last booster shot since I'm right here. She said, "you want to know the truth?", and of course I said "yeah", and she replied, "don't get it, it's not all it's hyped up to be, and it won't keep you from getting COVID anyway, and COVID is no longer a real threat". So I skipped getting a booster shot for the first time
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

Not taking covid shots any more.  Check the data.

No shots after the first 2. I'm done with all the covid stuff. I'm pretty sure I've had covid a few times in the past few years but it's just the same as a cold. Just feel crappy for a few days and then back to normal. But I'll support your decision to keep taking then if that's what you want to do.
