...didnt he play quite a bit better under shurmur?

Seems like an entire organizational change is needed.

I mean, most here would point to 2022 as his best year, not to mention he had alot of fumbling and turnover issues then as well. Regardless of what his best is, it was never that good to begin with.

Ed Vette

A bad decision going for two instead of keeping the game within seven that looked to be about to bite him in the ass.

A bad decision to start a LT clearly not ready for prime time against a tough defensive pass rush, when he should have stuck with Ezeudu who settled down in the second half of his first start.

Other than that, he mostly called a good game. No Flott, no Adoree, no Thibs and his GM letting an All Pro Safety walk. Other than benching Banks which was a huge statement and ballsy to boot, this team did not give up.

He planned a quick game and he ran the ball committed more than any other game since Barkley. He went for more weapons and the emergence of Theo was a nice breakout, especially that pass up the middle seam, which has been missing.

Take away the turnovers and Jones didn't have a bad game. It was a mixed bag but I don't out the loss on Jones. We know his limitations. He got the crap knocked out of him as he hung in there to make passes. I do put the procedure penalties on Jones but that call on Nabors was BS picky. They ran into the kicker and it was never flagged and it was the difference in losing the game.

Two incompetent people at the two most important position.

Last season Daboll fought with his DC.  This season he is fighting with his starting QB.   After a great start his teams look sloppy, uninspired and generally outcoached by opponents.   As much as I want consistency, I am not seeing it with Daboll

I am also concerned with Schoen when you consider first-rounders like Neal (couldn't beat out a PS OT), Banks (benched for lack of effort), KT (underwhelming), and even Nabers has come down to earth with killer drops and an injury.  WonDale is not lighting it up as a 2nd round WR and the same can be said of third rounder Hyatt

It was pretty apparent things were frosty after last week's benching, especially from the comments by the usually reserved Jones.   The whole throwing the QB under the bus after the pressure is the opposite of leadership (as mentioned by Bobby Skinner who is no Daniel Jones fan).

Ahh OK. A little misleading though.

I do agree that it's not cool to throw any player under the bus. However, considering all that is going on and Mara's influence, I get the chess match.

When things work (RB screens, running the ball in general), Daboll usually abandons it in the second half. Happens all the time. He continues to allow odd special teams behavior (players catching balls inside the 10 or runni g towards a punt which has already hit the ground)...just basic stuff. A player makes a big gain and Daboll takes him out for a rest. His camp is mediocre at best as we see the team doesn't look fluid until the 3-4 game of the season. I'd say Daboll still has a ways to go

Everyone was screaming for the benching and now its throwing him under the Bus. Well it did motivate Jones to be tough in the pocket instead of bailing out like he did last week. And Daboll praised Jones last night after the game. Called a spade a spade but said he was tough and made good plays. Fans hate Coach Speak. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I agree with you Tim.

Fight between Jones and Dabs? Sounds a little dramatic.

Jones has to take accountability for not shifting the TE to chip. It's his responsibility, it didn't happen, it impacted the play - why should anyone else carry the can for that.

Players need to be accountable. We all talk about culture/direction/vision of the team, the starting point is accountability. It appears that we want accountability but not in the shape of benching Banks or calling out Jones.

Sounds odd to me.

For the most part what is the one constant in this time frame, Jones.
Coach killer or what.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Daniel Jones is a model human being, a class act. We've all respected him for being tough...giving his all..and  deserving in that sense.  I feel bad that he has failed..but the brass also needs blame for trying too hard to believe in him as "the guy"

He never was..and I have tremendous sympathy in his sincere efforts to be that ..but he never could be.

Now, we appreciate Phil and Eli so much more, because so much is needed at that position
