I think after the loss on MNF the Giants should be looking to sell assets that likely not going to be on the team next year.  There are 2 guys that come to mind for me that have been providing some good auditions:

Darius Slayton
Azeez Ojulari

Both are FAs at the end of the year and I would be surprised to see either back next year.

I don't think they are getting a king's ransom for them but I think anything is better than nothing.  Both have some value for teams looking to make a deep run that need a complementary receiver or pass rusher.  I am sure the game plan wasn't to showcase Slayton for the league last night, but I thought his performance provided that.

Anyone else you think that is reasonable trade bait?

FWIW, I don't see Dex or AT as "reasonable" trade bait because they are foundational players.

I can see Azeez staying and resigning depending on cost, but understand the logic and wouldnt be against it.

As much as I love Slayton, he likely won't resign, so if they can get a pick for him, that would be ideal. I can see him fetching  a 4th or 5th

Right now Slayton is the most productive Receiver on the team. He's only 27. Hyatt has not had a breakout game to date and although it's not all his fault, he remains an unknown commodity. Slayton with Nabors worked pretty well last night.

Has Azeez emerged because its the last year of his contract or because he is healthy with opportunity?

He's just rarely healthy (recall he fell to 2nd round because of knee concerns) and a liability against the run. The sack numbers look good and he'll want to cash in this off-season since it may be his only real chance for a payday. The Giants should take what they can get in a trade and move on.

Yeah like I said I understand it and would be supportive and open of it. They can probably get a similar return as Slayton if there is interest in either

Yeah, the 5th and 6th round picks those players will garner will really turn the franchise around.   

Oh to have some players of value they could sell out. Not doing it last year, was the second biggest mistake of the Schoen reign.

I am sure Andrew Thomas, Dexter Lawrence and Malik Nabers have value.  I just wouldn't trade foundational players if I were a GM. 

Are suggesting they should trade anyone of high value?

I feel like he was referring to Barkley and McKinney, but I could be wrong, if so I agree, could have kept him off the Eagles, and between both got a solid return.

No. Not at all

But those they aren't signing to a new deal should be dealt. As they should have been last year

Sell ANYBODY that's not on a rookie contract or foundational pieces like Thomas/Lawrence. In fact that might be the entire list:  Rookies and those two dudes. Maybe Okereke/McFadden too.  But I would listen to offers for basically anybody else and be openly shopping Slayton and Ojulari.

You might now be able to add Deonte Banks to that list.

How does that prevent Barkley from signing with the Eagles. Unless the team we traded him to franchised him at an astronomical amount he would have still been an UFA.

If a team traded significant draft capital, they likely would have extended him, they would not have traded to Philly
