Obviously this is not really an attempt to compare the two.  It's just funny that Mahomes has just slightly better stats than Jones right now yet the Chiefs are undefeated.

Mahomes can make great plays to overcome his mistakes.

Jones can make great mistakes to overcome his plays.

With Mahomes, you're never really out of a game. With Jones, you're never really in it.

Just kind of crazy they just skip along undefeated.  Maybe if the Bills put it together finally but he wins another Super Bowl most likely.

I have seen many here claim the top QBs have better support than Jones, but the fact is Jones' supporting cast now is now pretty good, and currently better than the Chiefs in present state. If Hopkins works out and Pacheco comes back healthy, and Worthy turns it up, if that all happens maybe it swings back the other way.

But either way, Mahomes makes big plays or works some magic in big moments. Jones does not.

Not really. Mahomes is 7th in QBR. Look closer at the stats and you'll see it's not particularly close (Mahomes with 5% more completion rate, for example). Jones was throwing a ton this year and had little to show for it on a rate basis.

There is a lot of animosity being directed at Jones.  It's serving Schoen and Daboll well, as so many of the other issues and problems this team has are being ignored.

They quite frankly need to clean house and then most importantly finally get the right person in here with the power to build this organization properly.  They're broken all over.

I don't agree that the other issues are being ignored. But the QB issue hasn't been properly addressed in six seasons now.

In my opinion, animosity on Daboll's part is because he's potentially getting hung out to dry because of a guy he really didn't want but took him anyway to appease the owner.

Mahomes also has a great coach. We don't.

He has the coach who is currently the best in the NFL.

It's easy to be a great coach when you have the best QB in the league.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

I have noticed the best QBs in the league (Brady and Mahomes as examples) tend to have the best or near the best head coaches (especially the QBs enjoying success).

You can also point to Eli having Tom Coughlin and Phil Simms having Bill Parcells.

Dan Marino, having done Shula

Peyton Manning having Tony Dungee

Couldn't you also say the reverse is true?  All the best coaches had great QBs on the team?  Brady looked great without Belichick and Belichick looked mediocre to bad without Brady.

I think the most accurate way to put it is to say you need both.  Personally I think the Giants have 1 of the 2.  If they get the other one they will be fine.

I think for true generational greatness you need both the QB and the coach.

I'd also argue the reverse

McVay with Stafford
Kubiak with Manning
Arians with Brady
