Well I have my doubts next week, but generally yes, you're right.
Smell my cheese you mother!

There is no such thing as devoid of talent regardless of position. The same reports and such are wrong every single year of whatever position is discussed.

That is not to say theres a sure fire franchise guy in this draft, maybe there isn't and reports, and everything else end up right, but there is no telling either way

I posted after the Viking game that I hope they lose every game. I have been a fan for over 70+ years and I have never actually rooted for them to lose, but now I am for exactly the same reasons.
I am tired of garbage wins to stroke someone's ego, winning meaningless games and lose out on a franchise QB.

I was devastated when we beat Seattle but we can overcome that by losing to Carolina next week. That may determine the #1 pick.
Lose them all, blow it up and start fresh next year.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

I agree. I think I'm leaning that direction.

Ok so if you got your wish -

The Giants tried to move up to get Drake Maye. So far Maye has been horrible. The Giants wouldn't have Nabers and either Nubin or Tracy either.

Would the Giants be a better team with Drake Maye as your QB and no Nabers and no Nubin/ Tracy?

At this point the Daniel Jones support is the equivalent of a religious cult.

Maye, playing with less talent, after only 4 games, already has a better QBR and Rating than Jones. With the exception of yards, Maye's 17 game averages are better than DJs too. So, I'd feel a hell of lot more hopeful than I do today.

64.0    3554    17 11    42.7 84.5

63.1    2397    21 9    43.0. 92.6

Do you do any research before making such absurd statements?

Ted has made a lot of things up to fit his narrative.  This is just another example.

Quote from: madbadger on November 03, 2024, 05:13:10 PMI don't care what it costs if they aren't high enough to draft Cam Ward I'd be willing to give up the farm to get him. You simply can't win with bad quarterback play anymore, and he's clearly the best of this years qb class.

No thanks. The best of a mediocre class is not going to move the needle - especially when they'd need to trade next year's first and more to move up for him.

Stay put, draft Will Johnson and a stud OG, then use a #1 on a QB in 2026.

It's a bad faith argument from the start. You never see Todge defend Drake Maye by saying "this isn't tennis." The facts don't matter, it's all about spin and deception to make excuses for an incompetent QB. We are at a disadvantage at the QB position almost every week.

Here's the thing: we've seen the best of Jones in six seasons and it ain't enough. There's absolutely no reason to think it will get better.

With Maye, he hasn't even played half of a season. Every aspect of the team was blamed for Jones's lackluster performances but Maye can't even get out of his rookie season without the heavy-handed criticism.

Jones has better support all around and has only been able to muster 2 wins on the season.

It's only Mayes third game too. It's funny to watch Teds argument oscillate from you must have a proper supporting cast to evaluate a QB, to "be careful what you wish for" argument after 3 just games.

I never wanted Maye.  I'm on record as hoping for Daniels or trading back for Nix.  However, to suggest we know Maye is after 3 games is just absurd.

All this QB defending is getting a little boring to me.

If we're going to have a real discussion here, why aren't we discussing why was it that, after Andrew Thomas was lost for the season, the entire Giants offense fell like dominoes? The left tackle proved to be, in the end, the most valuable player on the offense, and not necessarily the quarterback.

The Giants do not need to draft a QB in a weaker QB class. The Giants DO have an issue now at left tackle going into next season as Thomas will not be 100% and is now damaged goods going forward. I believe you draft the best tackle in the draft and make him your cornerstone. If Thomas can recover and play, then that's a bonus. The Neal experiment is over and the Giants cut him and move on. The Giants need an anchor at left tackle for the next decade who can dominate the position AND remain healthy.

You can't draft a middling QB from a weak class that will end up no better than Jones in four or five years. Go get a free agent QB until the opportunity presents itself to either draft a big name in a strong QB class or you pay a big name pro to join you. But first you need your most important player all settled and in place, your left tackle.

Peace!

And drafting Carson Beck or Jalen Milroe is a brilliant plan and will lead to a winning year next year? Spare me.
