That leaves the Falcons as the only team who may want Olujari.

Marshon Lattimore to the commanders

Cowboys get Jonathan Mingo for a 4th

Jets trade Mike Williams to the Steelers for a 5th.

They'd have done better to trade with the Giants for Slayton.  Younger, more productive recently, not coming off an ACL, cheaper in 2024, and probably cheaper to sign going forward.  I conclude that the Giants aren't interested in trading Slayton, which is a mistake, IMO.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Not slowing my roll

So at 2-7 we aren't trading anyone?

I guess still holding out hope for the playoffs?

Preston Smith, who has a much better track record than Ojulari, was just traded for a 7th.

Not only do you have to find a willing trade partner, but they have to be willing to part with an asset that has actual value.

There are bad optics with selling low on guys, there's the potential competing belief that there's value in winning some games this year / a desire to re-sign guys like Ojulari, and there's the potential impact to the comp pick formula for guys lost via FA.

Getting rid of guys via trade in a lost season isn't as straight forward as some make it seem (not saying that's you, Dave).

I would think Azeez has a bit more trade value, consider the age of Smith (31).

But I agree, you can't just make trade, someone has to be willing, and the Giants made clear what they want (low 4 or high 5), it seems no one wants to give that for him.

We should trade 1/4 of the roster and get picks

I hear you Stringer, and you make completely valid points. I'm mostly venting here. Everything you wrote is absolutely true.

I just wonder how motivated Schoen and Daboll actually are to move guys though, given at this point they must be feeling existential concerns about their own personal situations.
