They were generally positive in their scouting report.  To them, the bottom line was they didn't believe he had elite potential.   The idea was to become elite; you either have an elite arm or you scare defenses with special running ability.  They felt Sanders lacked either trait (they didn't consider his arm a liability but they felt it simply isn't special).

They felt that the NFL comps were late-career Geno Smith or maybe Tua.   They thought his potential ceiling was maybe Burrow (not a lot of confidence that his ceiling is that high)

I am familiar with the ex-scout.  He worked for the Jets for a year or two.  His reports seem more like hot takes than solid scouting reports.  He was pretty active online a couple of seasons ago and then dropped off.

Thanks Jess. I watched it.  Think it cane out in beginning of 2024 college season so BB's comments dont account for 2024 season.

BB thinks Jalen Milroe has Anthony Richardson type athleticism, body and arm but is a more developed QB now playing in second system.  He noted that decision making needs to be developed more but likes what he sees.  Noted that CBs will hate tackling Milroe by the 4th Q given his size and fact he runs hard.

BB seems to like Cam Ward.  Said he's improved at each of his 3 schools.  Good arm and release.

I thought BB's best comment was that you have to scout all players but that you cant change your system to accommodate the player but instead have to find the player who fits your system.  He said some coaches value a cerebral Qb more who can beat a D by calling great audibles.  Others value a QB who pushes ball naturally downfield.  Etc.

I watched most of the Bama-LSU game. They ran a lot of 1x3 Nub, Zone Read and Zone Read Escort. They don't use or they didn't use his Arm downfield much in this game. At times that TE Nub either moved to the Flat or dropped ineligible in Pass Pro. Milroe looked like a Lamar Jackson clone, and most of the yardage was on the ground. I need to see more games where I can see more downfield passes, and throws of anticipation. I can say that he has a nice Base and he doesn't drift off the vertical setup, reads the field very well and makes quick decisions. Usually a quick double hitch and it's off. Some very creative Run Plays with exotic Blocking Schemes. He has nice speed and makes quick decisions in space to the right cut. And of course that Offensive Line is a huge asset.

Just based on the casual tape you've seen on him would you sign up for us using our top pick on the best available prospect likely an elite corner and grabbing Milroe at the top of the 2nd or at the end of the 1st. Because I think I would currently, he's got the legs, and he has a cannon for an arm, he's fearless. He's just raw and I think Daboll could mold him, and legs/cannon translate regardless of competition.

I can't say at this point, but If the first pick is top three, I would prefer a QB. I think once it's all sorted out, Milroe may wind up in the top ten. There's just too much hype and too many teams looking for a young QB to develop. This year so far Daniels, Maye and Nix all look like the real deal. McCarthy never had a chance and I expect Williams to get better. Their success is going to have an influence on the 2025 Draft. I think teams will take chances. 4-5 can go off in the top 15. There's a lot more film to watch for me. Can you imagine a scenario where the Giants trade out of that pick? I can.
