Why has not one person acknowledged that DeVito too now has a #1 WR? Maybe he will be alot better with one, the OL now is still better than last years too.

fair point

If I had to guess as to why DeVito over Lock.  I would say it could be one of these four things:  1) Long eval for Devito to shape what they do next year in case they cant get or don't like any of the draft 2) They saw how bad Lock was against the Eagles and decided they'd rather not make everyone puke by watching that.  3) DeVito has looked much better in practice than Lock.  4)  DeVito has the cult-like following and figure we could all use that entertainment in this lost season.

I think there's more of a chance DeVito will be with them next season than Lock. There's also the chance DeVito begins next season as the starter if they draft a QB.

I think it's mainly 2 and 3. I think Lock has looked appallingly bad both in the preseason and the Eagles game, possibly even worse than Jones.

DeVito on the other hand, while obviously not the second coming of Joe Montana, has not looked nearly as bad. He's been a bit more game manager-ish. And while I understand people are attributing some of the Giants' fleeting 2023 success under DeVito to the defensive turnovers, DeVito's actual passing numbers are better than Lock's, which are downright horrendous.

I have no idea why we even brought Lock over. I understand we needed a backup, but he's not worth $5m. He's terrible. There are guys out there who are not on active NFL rosters who are better.

Aye fughedaboutit...whoa.

We will get to see Cutlets agent in full wiseguy attire Sunday? Bobby thought at first he was in the Mafia, but he sure looks the part.

DeVito has a cache with the media and a lot of fans, but went pfft fairly quickly after starting and got whacked too much with sacks..ooooh

I am not sure the whole local Italian boy makes good will play again.  It sounds like DeVito wants to be less of a sideshow this go around.

Rich,

Fair enough. I hope that silliness will be curtailed. But will see.
