I am happy he was able to sign with a contender.  I wish him all the best of luck and hope he is able to take advantage of the change of scenery and learns quite a bit from the solid Viking's coaching staff

I think I would leave Mullens as the #2 QB for a few weeks until Jones gets some practice time.

Good luck Daniel. I'm glad he went to Minnesota and not the Eagles. We certainly didn't need the added distraction.

Matt,

This also will allow the Vikings to let Sam Darnold to walk after the season.  They can keep DJ as the potential bridge QB if JJ isn't ready to start next season.

LOL.  Mia or Minn made A LOT of sense. I wish him well...

Good for him.

How does his contract work is he under contract next year with them?

I think you spelled The Cowboys wrong. Reason why is that for the past 5 days what was trending on SM was Jones to Dallas, learn the playbook in a day or 2, Log in a practice or 2, leap frog 2 QBs, and then start tomorrow to stick it to the Giants. People are just dumb.

Good for him.  I like that spot for him.  Hopefully he does well there.

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

I wish him the best, I don't think his fortunes will change, but I have no ill will towards the guy.

Once he cleared waivers the contract with its injury guarantee vanished.  Right now DJ is a Viking PS player free to sign to another team's active roster should such an opportunity arise.

I suspect the Vikings elevate him to the active roster at some point.  Once up to speed, DJ is a better backup option and if he signs with another team after the season, the Vikings could get a comp pick.

No details have been released; however, I suspect the contract will only be the remainder of this season. Again, there was really no market for him, which is why he's currently on the Minn practice squad.

I doubt JJ McCarthy is losing any sleep over this signing.
