When you watch the conditions Drew Lock had to work under

Dropped passes, penalties, poor pass protection, and weak play calling, can you imagine a newly drafted rookie QB thriving under such conditions as he engages in the critical NFL development phase of his career?

A new QB, in my opinion, will not solve the problems because they are far more deep-rooted.  All drafting a quarterback will accomplish is ruining a young quarterback's NFL dreams.

One thing to keep in mind, when Arizona started Josh Rosen as a rookie, they had a comparably bad offense. Last in scoring at something like 15ppg. The following year with Kyler Murray, they finished middle of the pack in offense. Not great, but my point is there is no excuse to be this bad on offense. Significant progress is not only possible, it should be expected.

It's understandable when the season is lost.

Daboll has his work cut out for him, no doubt. He's fighting an uphill battle, some of which is his own doing.

I don't think the situation is as dire as you're painting it.

So upgrading the most important position doesn't make the team better

Got it

BTW, who is saying it will fix EVERYTHING?

Your assertion is flawed.   There are no sure thing NFL ready QBs, which is the foundation of your claim.   Teams draft QB prospects.   Best case it's a role of the dice.   If you don't have stability and quality in coaching and support in terms of reliable targets and some protection, the house is using loaded dice against you.

A prime example:  Darnold threw 5 TDs yesterday.  Yet, due to dysfunction, Darnold was not the answer for the Jets nor the Panthers.

At the very least, the Giants need to upgrade their coaching if they want to maximize their success with drafting a QB.

The team that trotted out there yesterday is NOT the team that trotted out there Week 1 this season and will not be the team that trots out there Week 1 next season.  They have a million guys on IR right now BY DESIGN.  They need this QB and when they get him all of a sudden the whole roster will be back the way it was at the start of the season along with any other additions.  It's not a fair comparison.

Just what were those conditions that lead Lock to give up running straight for an easy first down, turn right into heavy traffic, and then lose yards? That's the conditions of the Giants fault that he has almost no QB instincts?

7 opening day offensive starters played yesterday including all skill players minus Theo. The tackles were different and the QB was benched/released for non injury reasons. Drew Lock just sucks period. Mike Glennon had worse conditions back in 2021.

Is that the design every year?   To have a million guys on IR by December?

It should be if they are out of playoff contention before Thanksgiving.

Take your pick of Stafford, Goff, Mayfield, Darnold, or Wilson and this Offense looks totally different. Put in Daniels, Nix, or Maye and the Giants win that game too.

Playing QB is the most difficult position in team sports. Drew Lock is Daniel Jones with less playing experience. Go back and watch the game again and see all the opportunities he missed. Dropped passes, critical penalties, Tracy's rookie wall, and the Evan Neal factor handicapped the Giants no doubt, but this should have been a win.

Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... When we are in position to grab our QB of the future, no one will be mad that we didn't win that game or any of the remaining 4.

Losing now is the physical therapy and rehab we need to be healthy later.

I am with you on this, but I'll still feel like crap after every loss. Chemo may be a necessary treatment. That doesn't mean it's enjoyable so to speak.

I didn't want them to be embarrassed but near the end of the game Linda was cheering them on and I'm like, noooooo!
