Since #Giants last TD pass (Daniel Jones to Theo Johnson) on Nov. 3, they have done this at QB:
- Benched Jones
- Cut Jones
- Started QB3 Tommy DeVito over QB2 Drew Lock
- Started Lock for injured DeVito
- Started Lock over healthy DeVito
- Named DeVito starter over injured Lock

My main concern at this point is that they do not win, get that #1 pick if possible

The final stretch is brutal, Indy is their most winnable game on paper, we'll see soon enough.

Tommy Devito? oh boy...! The only thing that could make this season worse is the Giants winning another game and picking later in the draft. Of course this assumes Sanders and Ward end up being high level QBs.
Ain't nothing to it but to do it!

"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

Yes, in this I agree, let's hope for a 2-15 season

I think the Raiders play the Jags soon too, at least one of those teams will get pushed further back too, hopefully LVR

Yes I noticed that too, and I'm hoping the raiders win that game, which would solidify the Giants with the #1 pick as long as they lose out, which I believe is the goal.

They play next week.  Jags have the Jets this week, which they could win.

Jets are up there also at 3-10, so all in all a few games where the Giants get draft help regardless, I like it.

The Ravens are far from the best team in the league.  Will Mara hold anyone accountable for the Giants being far and away the worst team in the NFL?

If he does, he's at the top of the list. He's the one constant in the last 10 years. Firing Schoen and/or Daboll is just evidence that it's the same xxxx, different day. Until he stops meddling with his seemingly benign comments, changing GM and coaches won't matter.

"We're going to build this thing the right way... I'm not going to do a Hail Mary for self preservation. We've got a plan in place and we're going to stick with that"

John Mara is not the only constant

Ronnie Barnes-  a constant

Chris Mara-  A constant

His nephew Tim a semi-constant- Has had different positions during that time span

With John's penchant for loyalty, I suspect many people in the Giants organization are constants.

The only real turnover has been in coaching,  scouting, GM, and some of the front-office

Still, I am not completely in disagreement that John Mara isn't an issue.  That's why I advocated hiring Dawn Aponte to be the president of football operations, which would essentially relegate John to a more isolated owner role where most of his time would bother Ms Aponte.

Other than being too loyal, John (along with Tisch) was responsible for hiring GMs and partly responsible (along with the GM) for hiring head coaches.

Jerry Reese- the hand-picked successor by EA, had some success before destroying the team.  I don't recall anyone being opposed to this hire.

Gettleman-  EA endorsed but failed to improve the team in 4 years.  Gettleman's personality was likely the greatest cause of his failure. There was some grumbling, but I don't recall the hiring being met with strong objectons

Schoen-  a pure Mara and Tisch hire.  Schoen seems like a nice guy but in over his head.  No one at the time objected to the hire.

As for coaching hires:

McAdoo-  The man is quite intelligent but lacked the prerequisite people skills. This hire was not met with strong opposition

Shurmur-  Had the people skills but lacked the intelligence.  This hire received a luke-warm reception

Judge- It was a gamble; Joe talked a good game and, out of the gate, showed the potential to be a great leader but failed to deliver on his promise.  While some thought the hire might have been too soon, most approved of the hire.

Daboll-  Was considered a hot offensive mind and candidate of the success he enjoyed for a couple of seasons in Buffalo.   Not much in the way of opposition to his hiring.

So while it's hard to say John doesn't have culpability, it's not like at the time he made decisions, many identified them as glaring errors.  In fact, it's possible that the institutional dysfunction is why all the decisions have failed, rather than the decisions themselves
