So the Giants are going to look for a veteran QB who has been developed/coached up by a competent coaching staff?

If I could predict the future, I wouldn't waste it on figuring out what the Giants will do.  ;)

This is a very bold claim to make.

In 2022 Daniel Jones combined rushing and passing stats were:

67% 3900 Yards 22 TD 5 Int 92.9 RTG 62.9 QBR

This ranked him 13th and 6th respectfully with regards to his RTG and QBR.

Even his biggest critics weren't 100% certain he wasn't the answer.

So, and I ask this kindly, but can you please share with us, where you specifically said with 100% certainty, right after the 2022 season, that you knew Daniel Jones wasn't the answer?

Daniel Jones, on paper, may have looked decent in 2022, but it was all a smoke screen made by Daboll to try and hide his major faults. If he was so good, as you claim, how come this didn't translate in 2023 and again in 2024? The answer is quite easy, once the DCs saw what Daboll was doing to help Jones, they clamped down on it, and once again Jones was severely limited in what he could and couldn't do. Same for his rookie year, once the DCS had a look at his positives and negatives, they easily took the positives away and he was reduced to being what he was, just a below-average QB who was drafted way over his abilities.
You just continue to be up one decent year and make that offset all the horrible years we have had to suffer because of Gettleman and this draft pick. If you want to keep defending Jones, go ahead, but even his admirers have said he was no good.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Lenn,

Maybe you have missed it but after week 10 of this season, I realized DJ wasn't the long-term answer, and so did the Giants.

My question to you though is you have stated that you knew with absolute certainty that DJ wasn't the answer right after the 2022 season.

I am just kindly asking you where you have stated that you were 100% sure he wasn't the answer right after the 2022 season?

That is all I'm asking, thanks

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I knew for certainty that Jones wasn't what he was built up to be after his second year. And that is a fact that I posted more times in that period than I care to rehash.
Make no mistake, I hated his pick from the get-go. There was no way he was a #6 draft pick. Maybe if we drafted him later in the first round I might have been more accepting, but #6. And then the stories, spread by Phil Simms and our own Todge that so many other teams had him on their board and would have drafted him right away if we didn't. That was a huge misconception. What kind of scouts did we have that really thought he was the answer? Did any of them follow his college career? At best he should have been a 2nd round pick and a work in progress.
Plus every year, apologists like yourself kept feeding us all the stories of how a QB needs this, needs that, and then needs even more. Sure they do, but star QBs rise above that fact and improve their team along the way.
YES, I knew and I am surely no scout, but again, I knew he wouldn't become a good QB. I rooted for him as he was our QB, but in my heart, I knew he would never take us anywhere, and that is documented.

I didn't bring it up. Some people just can't let it go.

Hi Lenn,

Actually, you did bring it up, these were your original comments from your opening statement on page one from your thread "I know the story back then, give Jones someone who can be a legit #1 WR and he will respond. He didn't and we pay the price, so again knowing what we know now, who might we have drafted instead, or stay with Nabors?"

I answered the question on why drafting Nabers wasn't a mistake as it gave the Giants and the fans the answer as to what we needed to know regarding Daniel Jones.

Have a good night.
