Rich, was that you who wrote the letter to John?

Whomever it was, BRAVO! Very well written.

Mara's reply was less than inspiring, nor did it communicate much remorse.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

That was Giants Girl and I agree, outstanding letter

That response sums up how the franchise is run, poorly thought out, standard response with little concern for the fan who wrote to him to start with.

A pathetic response from the worst owner in the NFL

Classic Mara response. Avoiding every important issue she raised, giving no indication of any change to come, and showing no accountability whatsoever. The man clearly has no life outside of being a mediocre Team President (by virtue of inheriting the franchise). Really pathetic.

What gets me is the confidence that he will turn it around next season.  There is nothing in the past decade plus to suggest he knows how to fix it.  The only way he could even remotely make this promise is to hire a competent team president and step back

Idk what everyone is getting bent out of shape over?

The person who made the tweet, who also wrote the letter, assuming it is genuine and real, seems happy with the response, even called it thoughtful.

This letter accurately captures the sentiment of many questions I have posed here, in addition to those of many of you, wrapped around sharing her journey as a Giant fan dating back to her father. In all, as much as I have enjoyed the resurrection of the planes flying with the messages for John Mara, season ticket holders sharing their stories of their dedication and patience, and questioning their sanity of continuing to fork over their hard earned money for a sub-standard product, is the way to go and share it with fellow Giants fans. Threaten to not renew and the Mara family loses the Giant fan base to ticket agencies buying up the PSLs and the potential end of home field advantage forever.

Mara may have enough time to sign the generic letter, which is thoughtful in that he is at least acknowledging their letters. But Giants' fans know actions speak louder than words, and those actions have no more runway left for missed takeoff attempts. Mara is the last pilot in the final F/A-18 aircraft on the carrier who either takes off or goes "plop" into the ocean.

Which one is it, Mr. Mara?

Special thanks to Giantsgirl fir sharing her letter, and Mr. Mara's response, with us!

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

I highly doubt many other owners of bad teams would even reply to such a letter personally like that. While I excuse nothing about the job Mara is doing/has done being the owner of this team, I commend him for at least responding to this letter. He was under no obligation to. I can all but assure you owners like Woody Johnson, Mark Davis, the Haslems, Shad Khan etc would never in a million years do that.

Great letter by giants girl and the usual lousy response via form letter by John Mara. Hey John, if you're gonna respond back at least have the courtesy to actually respond instead of signing your name to a callus form letter. Great letter and an embarrassing response back.Ive had season tickets since the new stadium opened and if not for my kids and grandchildren enjoying to go see a giants football game I would have given them up already.

Dave, the point I got from this is if he's gonna respond to a fans letter then respond and not give lip service. Would rather see no response than that personally

Steve,

The franchise is an unmitigated disaster. The record (not just this year but over the past 11) speaks for itself. What exactly do you want him to say that will make any of that better? Would you prefer that he write some long BS letter full of false promises and conjecture?

This is kinda where I stand.

Like I said before, the person who wrote the letter was clearly happy with the reply. So who are we to judge the quality of the reply when the actual author of the letter approves? By that alone, it is not a lousy response.

This is like everyone getting bent out of shape with Dabolls post game pressers, what do people expect to be said? Are there magic words than suddenly make things better?
