By the time this is over they will fall even lower than the number four.  I know you can't tank a game on purpose but they wait until week 16 for an explosion like this?

The cherry on top will be Barkley gaining 102 yards next week and setting the single season rushing record in an Eagles uniform.

This was one of the worst seasons I can recall as a Giants fan.   The reward?  Drafting 8th or 9th   ~X(

I'm sorry supposed Giants fans feel this way. I truly enjoyed the game. What was I supposed to do, root for lock to get sacked, root for Tracy to get stuffed at the line, Nabers to drop everything thrown to him and the secondary to get burned all day? Great to see them win, the enjoyment I got out of watching it reminded me of why I watch.

In a word, yes. We spent most of this season lamenting the DeVito wins and how it cost us a shot at Daniels or Maye. No one is reliving those moments.

Likewise, next season, no one will be rewatching this game and celebrating the awesome performance by Lock. Instead, we will once again be looking at draft prospects in October.

I'm sick of these short-term feel-good moments. We need to take the medicine (losses) and get better (#1 draft pick). That's the only way games like yesterday will be more frequent. This broken clock nonsense needs to stop.

In my mind, between games I can rationalize the benefit of a top pick.  I understand the value and the need for it.

Once kickoff comes I start cheering, I am a never quit, die trying type. I am excited to see effort and execution with in the game.  I will probably stop watching once that isn't the case.

The second the game was over I understood the impact to draft positioning and wasn't happy but in game i was excited to see the boys compete even if I realized what was being lost.

My well wishing doesn't impact the teams play so, I prefer to root for them

The big difference between last year and this year is the quality of the QBs available at the top of the draft.

I'm not sad at all about missing out on Sanders or Ward. It would have been nice to land the #1 overall if I knew they were going to trade down to secure more draft capital.

But if they lose next week and stay at 4, then they get the guy I wanted all along in Will Johnson. If they win again and fall to 8 or 9, then I'd go with Kelvin Banks Jr. (assuming Abdul Carter is off the board).

Four years from now, I don't think anyone is going to be saying "I can't believe we missed out on Shedeur Sanders!" Instead, we'll be saying that we dodged a bullet.

In a perverse way, they may have did themselves a favor yesterday by ending any speculation regarding them and those top-two QBs. Personally, neither is worth the overall #1 pick anyway and the Giants have bigger problems to deal with.

If they stay at #4, they'll be able to actually fix some of their problems. Be it solve the left side of the offensive line, grab one of the best CB in the nation, plug the DT hole, and so forth. Those are valid holes to be filled that a #4 should give them the benefit of fixing.

You've been a Giants fan longer than most of us; however, as Parcells used to say, plenty of us here have pelts on our horses so we've been through plenty. This will eventually run its course. But the base talent simply has to improve. Hitting on the draft is an absolute must and, if they get the 2025 draft correct, they can't help themselves but improve since the talent base will be vectoring in the right direction.

My personal impression, when they showed the graphic of Kyle Rote (1951), and Tucker Frederickson (1965), as the fruits of the only times the Giants picked first in an NFL Draft, that struck something with me. For all the years I have been alive (since 1969), I've NEVER witnessed the Giants picking first overall. You know something, people can b!tch about yesterday all they want, but that is something the Giants, and their fans, should be proud of, despite the losing and dark times, they never hit rock bottom in the league. Tom Coughlin, for leveraging inspiring expressions, would refer to that as "Giant Pride."

That's how I viewed it as well, Jim and, one day, when this thing does get turned around, many will look back and see it that way as well.

Frustrations boiling over on another lost season, when you're still on the pot cooking, is understanding. This season's going to need time to cool before any lessons learned and philosophical takes can be extracted from it.

But it doesn't take away from the goodness when the good guys win.

Peace!

I'm glad some of you have faith Schoen won't trade the farm for a QB. I don't.

As I mentioned in another post, while I may have a preference, the choice isn't mine. So, in that regard, to me, it's more important that who they want is available. Having the #1 pick eliminates the "guy we really wanted wasn't there" excuse.

I've said early in the season that they can play well and lose. They don't have to stink outright.

Winning this game is like spending $100 in scratch-off tickets and being happy I won $10. That 10 bucks doesn't negate the fact that I'm out 90 bucks. Winning that game cost much more than a feel-good moment.

Kyle Rote in 1951 was a result of the 1st pick of the draft being picked out of a hat with all 12 NFL teams having an equal chance regardless of record.
