Here's what I expect today in games involving 3- and 4-win teams:

3 wins

Giants - With the #1 pick no longer at play and not as much incentive to tank to screw the Giants, an ugly game ends with Philly's backups finishing the season sweep

Patriots - Jerod Mayo may be coaching for his job at home against a Bills team expected to sit their starters (Allen will play first series to keep start streak alive). Pats fan want to tank so they can draft Hunter, but Mayo and Maye have other ideas. Pats win a close one

Titans - While the Texans playoff position is locked in, expect their starters to play at least half the game. Ryans will look to win and get Stroud some momentum heading into the playoffs. Titans will tank to ensure top 2 pick and shot at one of the QBs

4 wins

Panthers - Despite playing well down the stretch, Panthers fall to a Falcons team that still has some slim playoff chances

Bears - Packers are another team looking to build some momentum heading into the playoffs, so expect the better team to prevail here

Jags - Colts have been an inconsistent mess this year, and Jags coach Pederson could be coaching for his job. Jags pull the road upset

Raiders - Chargers don't have much incentive here, but Harbaugh isn't the type to lay down. Chargers prevail

Jets - With the Broncos also playing at 4, Miami wont know their playoff fate and will be trying to win without Tua. Rodgers has looked washed but pulls off one last win to sink Miami's chances

If this scenario plays out, the Giants would finish with the #3 pick. They could have a chance at Hunter if Browns and Titans both go QB (or trade down with teams looking for QB). Or they could still go with Johnson or Carter having just drafted Nabers. I'd be fine with any of the 3 but prefer Johnson.

If the above scenario plays out except the Giants win, they'd finish with the #7 pick. This could end up being bad in a draft with a fairly consensus top 6 - Sanders, Ward, Hunter, Johnson, Carter, Graham. In this spot, I'd desperately try to trade down, but there's little reason to think teams would be willing to give up a lot of capital for any of the guys left. Left to pick here, Giants would likely look at the 2 OTs (Campbell or Banks) and Ga. edge Williams.

If your scenario played out precisely per script, and the Giants were to take an offensive tackle, I would be extremely pleased except for the mourning of a lost opportunity of capturing draft capital which potentially could be converted into 2026 draft currency.

On the other hand, the chance of losing the Iggle game and picking two through four remains an option and increases their options to include the opportunity of moving down to capture draft capital for 2026.

Let's get this day over with and see where the chips fall.

Peace!

Stringer: I agree about 90 percent and will be more-than-pleased if it works out like that.

I'd rather Hunter but consider Johnson to be at least as good a corner back as Hunter (but with Hunter IMO you are IMO getting a full-time corner and part-time WR (so that's 1-1/2 elite players).

If (as is more likely) the Giants wind up picking from fifth, sixth or seventh, I'd take Abdul Carter. It NEVER hurts to improve either your OL or DL.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

#3
If Giants lose no worse than 4th and between 1st-3rd depending on number of wins by 3 teams.

If Giants win no better than 4th and worse is 9th

So if we lose

Pats win

Titans lose

Where are we in the draft order ? 3 ?

Disregard re-read the scenarios

We would be at 3 .....

So looks like a Travis Hunter draft if this shapes out

Seems a little harsh to fire Mayo after just one year. What exactly was Kraft expecting from a first year head coach playing with this putrid roster and a rookie QB?

Not bad!

The 3-win games finished as predicted. And save for a last-second Bears FG, the 4-win games would be looking good, as well (Falcons with a chance to win, and Jags, too).

I'm loving the #3 pick in this draft! Let's just hope the QBs go 1-2.
