Pointing out that a regime has the worst QB room in the league after 3 years is not actually a defense of the regime.

"We're going to build this thing the right way... I'm not going to do a Hail Mary for self preservation. We've got a plan in place and we're going to stick with that"

I asked Ed, and I will ask you.  Even if Schoen plans on sacrificing the future to protect his job, do you honestly believe he would announce that to the media?

The regime attempted to move on from Daniel Jones (DJ) multiple times, but each effort was thwarted, often due to a combination of luck and various external factors—factors that likely include the influence of the ownership. In 2022, with two top-seven draft picks, it seemed all but certain that the Giants would select a quarterback. However, the draft class that year proved to be the worst in three decades, leaving the team with little choice but to hold off on a quarterback selection.  I don't hold our GM accountable for that paradigm - he is accountable for Thibs and Neal; however, how much of that was a byproduct of DG scouting department?

Now, as we find ourselves in a similar position this year, it appears that the opportunity to secure a true franchise quarterback may remain elusive until at least 2026. Despite the frustrations of this waiting game, there's still a great deal to look forward to. The emergence and development of young players provide hope, and I'm genuinely excited to see them continue to grow and improve, as they play a brand of football that is more competitive and promising for the future.

How many QBs have Schoen and Daboll drafted over the past three seasons?  Even if you argue that Jones was the starter, a drafted QB could have provided an inexpensive, high-end backup.

It's the same thing we have routinely said about ALL pressers.

But you and Todge have routinely ate it up when Daboll said Jones was locked in or Jones has done everything we've asked him to do.

Selective support for Jones and eternal damnation for Schoen and Daboll.  :ok:

Oddly enough, I could reverse that and fairly hurl the accusation back at you (and a few others), but I don't see the point.  It's not really a fun discussion when you get into the personal digs.

You can be the hardest worker in the world as I think Daniel Jones was but that does not mean you have the "it" factor in which in a key moment when so much is on the line, your heart rate stays low, you believe in yourself and you make an amazing play.  Daniel Jones did not have that.  Most don't.  The very good/great ones do.  We need to find an "it" quarterback whether it's Draft, FA or someplace.

It wasn't a personal dig. I simply stated the same thing you have when you voiced your support for Jones. It's OK to own it. I own my positions.

You have a million and one excuses for Schoen's and Daboll's objectively terrible job performance, but you never cut Daniel Jones any slack.  So how is that different?

In addition to his lack of abstract qualities, he also struggled with a fundamental tenet of even average quarterback play: the ability to see the entire field and process information quickly. It remains perplexing why some believed he was a franchise quarterback, given that he never demonstrated that potential at any level. His inability to consistently make reads and adapt under pressure should have been a clear indicator that he wasn't cut out for that kind of role. I hope we find a true franchise QB in the next two years; although, I doubt it will be this season.

Two reasons... Mara's meddling and the lack of a good QB. You owe me 999,999 more reasons.  ;)

I supported Jones plenty. That's fine if you choose not to remember or acknowledge it.

Drafting a quarterback in hopes of finding a "high-end backup" may be the worst use of resources that an NFL team can use. If you don't think a QB can be a solid starter in the NFL, you're wasting a pick.
