I love that he mentioned Jalin Hyatt.  That man can play.  He's got great hands and body control.  Now get him a QB who will throw it deep.

No mention of Neal is disappointing.  Own the mistake and try him at Guard.

Joe, you know I'm a huge fan of your perspective!  However, if Hyatt could play, we would have seen it by now.  Nabers just set a rookie record, Robinson had a career year and Slayton remained consistent.  Even with the NFL's worst QB room, Daball offense was very favorable to the WRs. I just dont see it...

All Hyatt has shown is that he either can't run routes of can't get open. He's got to be the most disappointing WR drafted in the first 1-3 rounds since Jerigan. Even the much maligned Reuban Randle had some highlight reel catches and touchdowns.

I was just about to type I'm getting Jerrel Jernigan vibes from the kid. You beat me to it.

This says a lot about Jalin Hyatt lack of opportunities.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

Couldn't agree more Matt.

Hyatt is the classic example of how we (the team and many of its fans) love to overrate our own talent. We do it all the time. People see what they wish were seeing and not what is in fact there. This guy has been in the league for two full years now and has done next to nothing, and people still see a star for some reason. In two full seasons he has 434 yards and zero touchdowns. And he has been suited up and active in all but one game in two seasons.

And I think you make an excellent point that blaming the QB play and the coaching is a poor excuse, as we have seen other receivers, including middling talents like Slayton and Robinson, consistently outperform Hyatt in this same offense.

Let alone someone like Nabers who is actually a big time talent, who put up elite numbers that would be outstanding on any NFL team for any rookie.

I agree with you almost all the time.
I'd respectfully like to push back here. Hyatt showed separation ability as a rookie. I went back to try to find old posts and threads (which I KNOW existed) but now I can't find them.

You guys like to bash Hyatt - but he got open as a rookie!...u can't deny that!...same as guys said our TE room sucks - guess what - u were wrong. They don't suck they proved when we target them, they are GOOD!...same as Hyatt. Keep pushing Slayton - drop machine. I'll take my chances on Hyatt. I saw what he did as a rookie and he got separation. Now all of a sudden he stinks. No!...I think Jones stinks and and the other QBs didn't get a chance to use him. And Daboll 100% was a horrible ply caller this year. You can't say Hyatt stinks after seeing the separation he got as a rookie and- but year 2 he wasn't targeted!
