The more I watch Nix play, the less confidence I have in Schoen/Daboll's ability to evaluate/develop QB's.

When you combine that with the QB room that we've had to endure, IMO it really calls them into question.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Then 11 other teams have that issue as well.

Bo nix didn't jump off the page even in college, his first 3 years starting he was beyond pedestrian.

Haven't heard a dong that loud in a long time on that FG kick.

Clayton,

I'm not a fan of the other eleven teams, so their incompetence is not my problem.

The Giants have been my team since nine-teen seventy. I'm having the same sick feeling with this version as I had in nineteen seventy seven, seventy eight.

I get that, I was simply pointing out that Bo nix wasn't a clean prospect like Daniels or Maye, he had a lot of warts. He was horrible at Auburn for 3 years and good in an Oregon system that makes it really easy on qbs with short/quick game passing. So he wasn't a qb for every head coach or staff.

Understood. But our HC is supposed to be a QB guru. Payton saw it in him, why couldn't Daboll.

Look I know I'm being nitpickey here, but I'm struggling to see Daboll's redeeming value here, and I would prefer that we don't stink for the next four or five years.

IMHO if Mara had any remorse for what he's done to the product on the field, the least he could do is hire a TRUE football man to run the Football Operation and give that person total control.

He needs to concede that he doesn't know what he's doing.

At least that would give us some hope.

I was with the family this morning, so haven't been following game. Funny to read these comments and then see Nix through 3 quarters with 100 yards (and 40 of them on one pass) with 7 points on the board.

We are so used to horrible qb play that decent qb play starts looks miraculous.

Because we had to ride or die with Jones. He was one year removed from the 80mil contract.

We were told all he needed was weapons. So they got him the best receiver in the draft.

They would have taken a chance with a QB that they thought was a "sure thing" - hence the attempt to trade up to

But they weren't taking a flyer on a potential QB, hence passing on JJ.

They wanted to either get one of two things -  what they viewed as a franchise QB or get a weapon for Jones, who after 60 games (at the time), still had questions to be answered.

So they answered the question  with Jones and they could put to bed any remaining questions around competence and eventually moved forward without him.

Sadly, when you back a player with questions and they never can be answered - the knock on effect is huge.

It's a pity they couldn't see the issues but there we are.

Wild to think 4 of the 5 qbs in the 2018 draft are in the playoffs and we passed on them for a running back. Well besides Mayfield who was taken #1. The hit rate on that class has to be top 3.

Mayfield
Darnold
Allen
Jackson
