Brugler is a respected draftnik who has become pretty tied in to the league's draft process over the years.

2025 Mock draft from expert Dane Brugler:

1. #Titans: QB Cam Ward
2. #Browns: Edge Abdul Carter
3. #Giants: CB/WR Travis Hunter
4. #Patriots: WR Tetairoa McMillan
5. #Jaguars: CB Will Johnson
6. #Raiders: QB Shedeur Sanders
7. #Jets: DT Mason Graham
8. #Panthers: Edge Jalon Walker
9. #Saints: S Malaki Starks
10. #Bears: OT Josh Simmons

Thoughts? 🤔

Here were the players in Brugler's 2 round mock that NYG drafted

3. New York Giants: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
If the Giants are unable to move up for Ward, would they like Shedeur Sanders enough to draft him at No. 3? In this scenario, they don't and instead opt for arguably the best player in the draft.  Hunter would give New York an upgrade at corner — and he'd be a fun weapon for Brian Daboll to mix into the offense for the Giants' TBD quarterback.

34. New York Giants: Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama

For me its Ward or Dart. I would be happy with Carter or Hunter.

I find Milroe an interesting prospect.  He has elite running ability, which should go a long way to helping him achieve success in the NFL.   He also has a strong arm, which is always a positive.

The question is if he would be another QB in the mold of Lamar Jackson, or trend more like what we have witnessed from Anthony Richardson.

I appreciate that neither is a perfect comparison.  Jackson was a better thrower than Milroe in college, but Milroe was better passer (or at least more consistent) than Richardson.

Rich: If the draft's first two rounds came out like that, I'd take it.

One question: since you can see his entire first round, where did the other (if any) QB's go?

And at which pick(s)? Thank you.

Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Bob,

As you can see Ward and Sanders went in the top 10.  Milroe was the only other QB Brugler had being taken in the first two rounds

Rich: Thanks. This draft makes sense. Brugler is probably my favorite evaluator of draft talent.  Bob

His draft "Beast" is the reason I subscribe to The Athletic.

I listen to quite a few podcasts, and this time of year, many drafted related podcasts.   Over the years, Brugler has gained more and more respect in the draft industry and the NFL.   I only hear positive things said about him.

H-T: I've only seen one "Beast" (last year's). I don't remember how got it but I've never had a subscription to The Athletic. The document was indeed (as you know) a super source of info, and IMO very accurate. Bob

Bob,

If there is a sports information site that is worth the price.  It's $48 dollars the first year and $75 in the years following.  They have top-notch people covering all sports and all teams.  They have Dan Duggan and Charlotte Carroll covering the Giants.  If I had to cut back to just one subscribed sports news service, it would be The Athletic.  They cover the draft (and you get "the Beast".  They have reporters covering all 32 teams.  They also cover other sports as well.

If you wait, the Athletic often goes on sale for less than the current price I gave you.

Brugler tweeted a few thoughts on the Giants and players the Giants might be interested in.

On Giants potential interest in Shedeur Sanders:
It's too early to say. Daboll will have a major say and he won't have a great feel until after the Combine. I'll say this, Twitter likes Sanders much more than most in the NFL.

On Travis Hunter vs Will Johnson:
I like Will Johnson, but I think there is a decent-sized gap between him and Hunter as CB prospects.

Hunter better speed and movement twitch. Johnson's combine testing is going to be important for him. Both have instinctive ball skills.

Hunter just moves differently.

Johnson is a good player and will start in the league, but Hunter is the much better CB prospect, IMO. Big difference in athletic twitch bt the two.

On Hunter's pro position:
CB with some WR snaps mixed in.

On Abdul Carter:
Carter was my No. 2 overall prospect on my first board in August and nothing much has changed. Big-time talent.

I agree, the subscription is well worth it.

I agree. Shedurr is not the answer..no. Take the best player >..Hunter..and draft a QB later,.trade down..do not settle for Sanders. Let Prime have him.
