SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

Totally off-topic: I wish these so-called journalists would learn grammar.

QuoteThe decision ends a career at Texas that saw him go 21-5 as a starter the last two years revive and lead the Longhorns to the school's only two CFP appearances.

If he's there at the top of the second I would 100% would take him with the understanding that he won't play his rookie year. He's very gifted physically but needs another year to develop.

[yawn]  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there is a "yawn" icon or I would have used it. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

andrew_nyGiants

I'd rather have Howard in the fourth round than give up a second or third for Ewers.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Yeah he left because he didn't have a job to come back to.

What makes it more egregious:

1.  It's your job and
2.  Literally hundreds of apps exist to verify grammatical accuracy; many are free.

You say that like it's some sort of insult to him. Promises were made to Manning but if Manning was so much better than Ewers than why give the job back to him when he recovered from his oblique injury? If he had wanted to he could have stayed in college and gotten paid millions in the portal. He decided to play in the NFL instead.

J: Yes, now there's no doubt that the Arch Era has begun. Bob

madB: I get your point, but I think the kid is a true freshman and they didn't want to put him in "too soon" and take a chance on screwing things up.

I don't think they promised him anything except a fair shot, but he showed enough in practice to indicate he'll be ready to take the steering wheel with on more full off-season.

More importantly, they owed it to Ewers (who came there in leaner years) to let him take his best shot, and it also made good "business" sense for Ewers to come out now. The Cowboys' backup is getting long in the tooth and they'll probably draft him in round four and he'll have a shot at being their backup QB - just guessing.

Didn't he have a job in Oregon?

Manning is not a true freshman and it has been reported that the staff told him that worse case the job was his in 2025.

From everything I was told from Archs extended family was they sat him down when ewers got injured and basically said that they were worried it would divide the locker room if they started him and didn't let ewers have his job back when he came back from injury.

I think it's more about Sark showing loyalty to a kid who joined Texas when they needed a lift.

You're out of your mind if you think Sark plays Ewers the entire game against OSU out of loyalty. If he thought that Arch game him the best chance to beat OSU he would have started him. Winning a national championship is far more valuable to his career than being loyal to one kid. Ewers is an excellent quarterback even if Manning has a higher upside.
