After winning just one game at home during one of the worst seasons in franchise history, the New York Giants will not be raising ticket prices for next season.

Season ticket plan and parking permit pricing will not change for the 2025 season, according to the letter obtained by NorthJersey.com and The Record that was sent to members with their annual invoices Wednesday.

They need to get a one-game credit every season they don't finish above .500.

So, I suppose this means their hopes for jumping into third spot on the NFL's Richest Teams list is all but quashed now.

@files58 - pity those owners, Mara and Tisch! What-ever are they going to do???  :'(

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

How could they and save face? My God, fans won't go to see that garbage. If you have another chick or young kid, I understand wanting tickets. Me..average dude,.hell no.

4th richest NFL team yet underpay coaches and assistants where there is no salary cap. It makes no sense.

From what I have heard, they don't technically "underpay" as much as they don't adjust their salaries to account for the higher taxes and cost of living in the region.  In other words, ignoring all other factors, the pay matches much of the league, but in real terms, the salaries are not attractive.

Actually, yes they are.  This year it is 8 reg season games and 2 pre-season games for the same price.  A few years ago, they started making regular season and pre-season different prices.  This past year, they went to variable pricing based on game and time of the year.  My brothers and I have 6 tickets between us, and I think we are done.  They can have the PSL's.  I ate 2 games this year.  Gave a pair away for free and ate the other 4 on that game.  Sold another pair for $50 each and we ate the other 4.  Just not worth putting the money up front.  Can easily buy tickets when I want to go.

Sadly, it's actions like this that might (and I emphasize "might") get Mara to wake up and recognize the errors of his ways.

Too late! In some way Mara should be forced/coerced to refund all or a good part of the seat license cost. The club's value in the past ten years went from $2.1 Billion to $7.3 Billion while putting forth a far inferior product. Somehow the licensees should band together and try to publicly humiliate Mara. He will only change if hit in the pocket. If not where is the incentive to change? We are constantly being told the NFL is a business. What business produces a vastly inferior product yet increases 3.5 times in value? IT'S NOT ENTERTAINMENT. This weekend's playoffs are entertainment. The Giants are about winning, at least to this fan. Hence the fundamental difference between Mara and the fan base. He can bellyache all he wants about the product, yet he is sated by the cash register. It's human nature not to change, unless he is caused some "pain", and the only pain he can really feel is through the ca-ching.

@TDToomer Told ya!  ;)

Couldn't agree more! Truth be told, in the name of NFL parity, teams SHOULD be refunding revenue (e.g. season ticket prices) back to the fans IF they have NOT achieved a .500 (NOTE: actually 0.47 for eight wins/0.53 for nine wins) winning percentage at least once every four (4) years or so, and every year after that until they win a minimum of eight (8) of 17 regular season games and the clock restarts.

Now THAT is the perfect Balanced Scorecard metric!

Peace!

Some fantasy you have there. No team in any sport would do this. Not increasing or possibly decreasing season ticket prices and concessions is the best you will get.

Sorry, wrong emoticon. It was a tongue in cheek comment:

There! Better context?

I'm with you.  I'm waiting for the paper copy of the invoice so I can return it with my letter telling Mara I'm done after 63 years.

BTW, I heard the guys on WFAN discussing the revenue sources for the various sports and they claim that for the NFL, approximately 15% of the the total comes from ticket sales. Seems low but would explain why I don't expect anything but a pro forma, autogenerated reply to my letter
