Are a perfect example of how to developo a winning environment . A new owner buys the team and knows what he is doing by hiring an excellent GM who hires an established head coach who hires a top offensive coordinator . And he drafts well.

What do we have , an owner and owners who have no idea what they are doing. They hire a GM who has 2 of the top 7 draft picks and fumbles and then fumbles the following year again in the draft. He has no idea how to fix an offensive line . He gives $40 million to a QB and two years latere drops him. He won't pay an additional $2 million + to the best running back in football.  He hires a coach who has no idea how to be a head coach and thinks he is next Andy Reid by taking over the play calling . He fails miserably . He is stubborn, has difficulty with his assistants .  Bobby Johnson must be laughing his head off now .

Our owners are enamored with Albert Einstein and his definition of insanity . They have taken one of the most revered franchises in the NFL and made them the laughing stock of all of football.

THe fans are fed up with them but they dso not give a damn !!!

They found a wonderful QB. That's most important. Brady said it. We haven't had one in many years. I don't wanna hear about weapons or oline. Many plays broke down and there was pressure but the QB tonight showed he could overcome it.

Lastly, it's apparent he has an "it" factor and slows things down in clutch situations.

Daboll was 100% right about him.

I was out and didn't see the game. Just think we lost out on Jayden Daniels because of chicken effing cutlets. Think about it. All of you who say "I can't root against the Giants" do you now understand winning by losing?  :boooo:  :boooo:

Excellent post as it sums up the current state of the Giants and shows why the Giants will not be able to have the same kind of turnaround.

At least we went on that meaningless three game winning streak in 2023 with DeVito when we were already out of contention. Sure, the playoffs weren't happening that year regardless, and sure, it meant we couldn't have Daniels or Maye, but it helped instill a winning culture here, and that's way more important than the difference between having a Daniels/Maye and not having one.

It showed how Daboll kept the team together during difficult times. What a motivator! /sarcasm/

Stafford aside because I expect retirement soon, Washington has the best QB in the conference for the future and it's a huge advantage

Great point. The NFC is very weak (relative to the AFC I mean) at the QB position. There isn't anyone I would pick for the Giants right now from an NFC team over Daniels. He had a very good rookie season and he stands to only get a lot better from here. Did a nice job of staying healthy too.

A lot of things went into it, but his transition into the NFL seemed as easy as could be.  He has a natural feel for the game and the physical tools.  Made some great throws yesterday with pin point accuracy and used his legs when needed.

They scored on 50% of their drives in 2024.

I don't say this about a player on a division rival too much, but I am happy for McLaurin.  Guy has been a baller since he was drafted in the 3rd round and finally got a real QB.

Daniels would have looked great in blue

I am not that naive to under estimate the importance of Daniels to the Commanders success. He might conceivably become one of the greats . However, we did absolutely nothing positive in the last several years save for winning a playoff game against a very overrated Vikings team, which it turns out was the biggest mistake for the Giants.

Think of it , we have gone from 9 wins to 6 wins to 3 wins and ownership tells the fans that the current GM and coach are the best people to right the ship. Are they blind ? Some of you on this forum applauded Mara's decision but never explained why .

This is my opinion which is probably worthless, but maybe Mara reached out to replacements for both GM and Coach and found out nobody viable wanted the jobs . What a sorry state of affairs that is if I am at least halfway right .

Short term loss for long term gain.

The Commanders had good players but no one had them as a "OMG if they get a QB, they'll be a force" team. Same as Houston last year, a dumpster fire, get a QB and quickly a force in the league. For some reason Giants fans treat the QB position as a NPC thinking "all you need is protection and weapons". Yeah look at how Jared Goff is doing when the pressure is on, look how Darnold did when the pressure was on. We need a QB and the perception of this team drastically changes. It shouldn't take 5-6 years to rebuild. A great QB turns around the team very quickly.

The Commanders brought in a new owner, head coach, GM, a ton of free agents, and a QB.   That's how you turn around a team fast.   Changing the QB certainly helps but it takes a lot more than that.

The owner for the Giants isn't going to change.

They brought in a new GM and HC. Still missing the QB and more roster upgrades.

They signed a lot of low level under the radar FAs with three mid-level FAs, Biadisz, Luvu and Armstrong.  The rest are a lot of one year deals, like Bobby Wagner and Austin Ekeler.

I don't think any of the signings was for over $15 million/year.  They targeted the right guys and drafted well.
