Exciting game 5 TD's from each QB. Ole Miss with the upset.
Some Nabers in there as well

This game plus the Ole miss vs Penn St game are the two I suggests people watch to see Dart in action. That and the gator bowl from a few weeks ago.

Consider the talent that Daniels had on that team at Wr, TE, and Oline then you watch the highlights and Dart out dueled him with less talent, and arguably looked like the better qb when you adjust for talent.

Also the hit Daniels took in that game knocked him back to Arizona st 😂

Jess,

One thing I saw in those highlights was Daniels's display of special arm talent (some of his throws were just WOW!).  He also had incredible running ability.  Looking back at those highlights, it's not surprising that Daniels is thriving in the NFL

Worth a watch for prospects this year like Tyler Warren, Abdul Carter, Judkins, Prieskorn, JJ Pegues, Dart etc but pay attention to the back shoulders Dart chunks to the TE multiple times, and the crazy quick release he has. Best back shoulder positioning I've seen in a long time, and the release/velocity on the quick game is bananas.

I like Dart, a lot. However, I don't like his footwork and he's going to need to fix it. Watch as he crosses his feet on the dropback in long strides. He doesn't set a good base and prior to the throw, rarely plants his back foot to where he can open the disconnect from his hips to the front foot. He winds up with a lot of passes driving off the front foot. The problem being that he's slow to set and release, and he loses velocity on the quick throws. It doesn't seem to effect his accuracy, and he has the ability to throw off platform well. You can see the footwork on the play where he was stripped of the ball. His feet should never cross or hit each other. It's odd because he is inconsistent in how he sets. Still it's sloppy and his next Coach is going to work on fixing it. Keep in mind that on most plays he's throwing to an intended Receiver or it's a two read. His inability to set his base, results in Open Hips to the throw, a back foot pass or a front foot pass. I don't have to tell you what he's going to be asked to do at the next level. In short order Defenses will undoubtably be reading his eyes and body position. The talent is undeniably there though.

Amazing observation, I agree. The positive on that is if I am a gm or coach and you see Dart doing what he's doing specifically his accuracy and placement with poor footwork then you start to salivate because there are a ton of things that aren't correctable with Qbs, but footwork is something that you can easily correct with coaching and practice.

If you have time watch the hilights of the USC vs Washington St game in 2021. It was Darts first game as a freshman but he was running Kliff Kingsburys offense or a slight variant. Think he went for 400 yards and 4 tds in his first start ever. You get to see him run what Daniels is running now. I think you part Dart in the pro offense Daniels is running and he excels. The quick game, rpo, hot reads to playmakers in space, and the occasional deep shots. It's perfect for him in my opinion.

absolutely correctable, but the question is, how far do you mess with him? Messing with Mahomes would have ruined his game. It's those deeper route combinations where he tends to get sloppy. You and I have been on the same page with the competition he's faced in comparison to Sanders and Ward and to me that's significant. He's been a sleeper because these Draft pundits all jump on the bandwagon and feed off each other. That second tier of QBs have a lot of potential. This guy's going to climb come draft day.

Giants are drafting either Sanders or Ward. Simple as that.

Absolutely are. That's what happens when your owner puts an ultimatum on the dynamic duo.

@Ed Vette and @Jclayton92

great discussion on Dart and his mechanics.

I will add one observation from over the years.   Fixing flawed mechanics is often easier said than done.  When you consider that most of these prospects have developed those mechanics over the past 8 or 10 years, you are dealing with ingrained muscle memory.   You can retrain and start to fix the issues, but often under pressure and when the bullets are flying, a QB will revert to what they have done for years.

Good point. That's one of the reasons why you see QBs warming up on the sidelines when it looks like a possession change. It's the motion and release point they are working on as much as loosing up the arm.

The great lengths that Josh Allen went through to improve his mechanics is above and beyond what most QBs will do. He's now an example of throwing motion and mechanics. Another QB who was consistent in his delivery was Drew Brees.

I really like Dart.        Good choice in round two.     But I think he moves into late first.

I'd rather take him there than Rd 2 if you believe in him anyway. So you get that 5th year.  If the Giants don't go QB at 3, if I were them I'd be looking at teams towards the end of Rd 1 to move back in for Dart or Milroe whoever they like more or is available.  I look at that as the best case scenario.  But I don't think they will take that risk and instead just take a QB at 3 unless the QBs go 1-2.
