I'm fine if he is available at #3, provided they all fully, truly believe in his talent, ability, and potential.

I rather get Dart later on, but I could live with it if they do not need to trade up.

Was going back and watching Sanders tape at Jackson St and it is significantly underwhelming. He only went over 300 yards 3 times in 2 years facing div 2 talent with multiple division 1 wrs including Travis Hunter. The more I dig, the more I think Sanders might not even be a top 20 prospect in this class.

babywhales

it is much more important to hit on the 3 selection than it is to risk hitting on Sanders just because he is a QB.

He better be the top player on their board at 3 if they take him.  If carter, hunter, Graham or Johnson are rated higher on the Giants Board I would much rather take 1 of them, then reach for Sanders.

Chris,

I agree, but it sounds like Sanders and NYG brass are forming a cozy relationship.  It reminds me a bit of what we heard about the Giants and KT three years ago.

Rick: My sentiments exactly.

My hope is that someone (maybe the Raiders) will trade up with the Browns and spare me the agita. lol
This assume Titans actually DO take Ward with Pick One,

But there are more than a few non-QBs who'll have terrific grades (a whole lot better than any QB) which could serve as temptation to the Titans, or (more likely) entice a "close-to-contending-for-a-Super-Bowl" team to trade up with them to grab that one special guy who might do for (at any non-QB position) what adding Barkley did for the Eagles.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Mr. G: In addition, we must IMO assume the guys who get paid to do this know more than we plebeians do, although there's still a bad taste in my mouth from their "bad miss" on Daniel Jones. I must add, on the other hand, that they never gave Jones much of a chance. They should have settled their OL problems before taking ANY quarterback with such a high pick. I believe we still suffer from that problem, which is yet one more reason why I do not want a high-first-round QB in this year's draft.

My preference at this time is Hunter or Carter. But I also think Giants fans should start getting comfortable with the idea of Shedeur Sanders as our next QB. The regime, unfortunately, is desperate. And desperate regimes often prioritize need over talent in the draft. I'm not saying Sanders isn't talented. He is. But they may prefer a good QB talent to a great CB, DT, edge, etc. If they think they can win with Sanders they'll likely take him.

Bob

He was the starter for 6 years. He started the year with an elite #1, OL that was performing at a top 10 level before the injuries midway into the season while the defense was on pace to lead in sacks

But I get the point, we need a RG and Swing along with help on defense. I prefer R1 we get Will Johnson and then Dart in R2.

But while not my top choice, if they truly believe he is "the guy" they have to take them, in which case hopefully it works out. Plenty of players end up as better pros than college players or vice versa. So we will see how it all unfolds.

Philosophers

I hate this "fall in love" with a prospect as it makes a team unwilling to analyze flaws or unable to find them.

The Giants meed to be like Warren Buffet when he analyzes a stock to buy.  Objective multiple metrics that show repetitive success and no emotion.

We are going to miss on a real talent at 3 if we take Sanders

I agree. I am a big Mason Carter Fan as well as Abdul Carter. I would like them to sign Justin Fields and DL Reed

If Sander's ranks top 8 or so, I'd be ok with a small reach for such a critical position.  But with some of our knowledge posters and others ranking him possibly 15 to 20, I'd say pass. It's too hard for the average layman to discern.
