Since I don't follow details of NFL payrolls, can anyone tell me how Eagles could afford to hire this guy?

Off the top of my head, I do know at least one Eagles defensive lineman will likely be calling it quits.

I don't see how they could offer more than a one-year deal, however.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Garrett has a contract for the next two years.  It would be challenging for the Eagles to acquire him as they are somewhat tight regarding cap space.

If the Eagles lose on Sunday I could see them pivoting to doing whatever it takes to get that guy and making another run at it next year.  Their window is RIGHT now. Saquon can't possibly have more than another year or two at this level. As was stated the money situation is tight.  They'd have to start borrowing from the future to pay Myles now, but I think if they lose this game on Sunday that's a deal they'd be willing to make before this window closes.  They'd be right to do so in my opinion.

I juast read that Washington, who have about 90Mil is draft capital, want to take a legit shot at getting him.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

That is the team for whom the move makes sense; damn the "odds" (see 2nd post in this thread). Bob

Washington already has the QB, they have the money so it does make sense with the rookie contract window.

This is the team that immediately sprung to mind for me too. They have their stud rookie contract QB and plenty of cap space. Almost makes too much sense that I have no idea how they don't have some of the best odds.

Washington definitely makes sense.

I assume Detroit can't afford him?

They have the cap space this year, but they're going to have to pay Hutchinson soon too so it's just a matter of do you want to commit to two highly paid edge rushers or would you rather diversify a little more.

To my knowledge they have Hutch this year on the rookie deal and then the fifth year option, and Garrett only has two years left. So they don't really have to "pay" Hutchinson until Garrett's contract is up, correct? Gives them a nice two year window with an absolutely dominant pass rush to go along with their high octane offense.

So at #2 Cleveland drafts Carter after trading Garret. That leaves at least one of the supposed top QB's available. Alot depends on what the Giants and Tennessee do during free agency regarding QB's.
