SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

Then Schoen checked the caller ID and sent him straight to voicemail.  Or so I hope.

He'd be a cancer to a young team. No heart anymore.

Apparently, he doesn't realize that his "buy by" date has signaled bye bye. I guess that can happen when you are running on the fumes of your ego. In any case, desperate as he may be, he is reported to be more interested in L.A. and is thus hoping that the Rams will trade Stafford and see him as a suitable and cheaper interim replacement. Good luck to him.

Cheers!

I'd take Rodgers on some BS one year deal before I traded premium draft capital and then handed a huge multi year contract and guarantee to Stafford.

You're going to be a non-contender either way. At least in the first way you're not depleting your ability to acquire young talent in the draft and tying yourself down to a deteriorating asset for multiple seasons at a cap-exhaustive price point.

spot on, I'd take Rodgers as a FA over paying a 2nd rd pick + more, + having to pay him.

No thanks, not when there are other vets that don't come with the traveling circus. Will he play without his own personal OC, Hackett? His own personal WRs? Not to mention all the other xxxx.

We're not trying to win next year anyway. Sign a cheap vet and get the rookie pick right.

I wouldn't take Rodgers for free. He's a dbag and would be a disaster in the locker room, particularly with Nabers.

I was one of those who thought Rodgers no longer had the talent to justify the baggage when he joined the Jets. I am even more strongly of that view now.
If you live your life as a pessimist you never really live your life at all.

No.  Just.....NO!  Past his sell by date and he's a detriment to the team building process.

And far as I know, it's not a binary choice between Rogers and giving up the farm and future for Stafford.  We can and should pass on both.

And don't ask me, "then who?".  I don't have the foggiest!

(though I am keeping an eye on what the Saints decide to do with Carr)

We don't have an opening for GM and his tenure with the Jets wasn't very good.

One desperate move begets another I guess...first Stafford, now Rodgers UGH!

I'd rather wait and see what happens with Cousins and/or Fields.
From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!
