Front Porch we are stopping politics but we will allow current affairs topics

As seems to always happen the politics results in things getting heated.

However, to liven things up we will allow current event discussions.

We will ask people to honor the spirit of the no-politics rule

So please avoid current event stories that deal with prominent politicians

Please avoid stories about laws being enacted and lawmakers (with some careful exceptions)

Please to try to avoid making posts about social policy etc

We are talking about things like Covid and the current rule changes

We are allowing the Israeli conflict (as long as it doesn't get too political)

In general, we are looking for news stories that don't have a natural political bent


Look, it's impossible to lay out every scenario, but we ask that everyone honor the rules and try to start current events topics that are not political or likely to become political.   Please try to make the comments on the current event threads non-political

This board should still keep it mostly on the lighter side so let's not minimize what the front Porch was created for by flooding the page with debate topics on CE's and try to restrain from spinoff threads.
