PFF ranks the Giants 28th in receiving talent

The Giants' receiver room will go as rookie Malik Nabers goes. If he is a star, Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton and Jalin Hyatt could all look like great complementary pieces.

After Darren Waller's retirement, Daniel Bellinger and Theo Johnson are the main options at tight end. Subbing out the pass-catching abilities of Saquon Barkley for Devin Singletary is a downgrade, as Singletary hasn't brought much in the receiving game in his career.


Again, PFF is ignoring its own grading system to make some of its declarations.  Like somehow Singletary's 61.2 receiving grade is a "downgrade from Barkley's 60.6 receiving grade.  You would think a site that is analytics-based would be less prone to reputation rather than actual production-based evaluations.

So my own two cents on this is I think this is a bit low. I thought ranking us around this level for our RBs was totally fair, but I think we are better than 28th in terms of receivers.

If you went strictly off of actual NFL accomplishments of the receivers on our roster, then maybe this would be closer to fair, but that seems like a silly way to rank teams' receivers, especially for a service that charges people money for their analysis.

I don't think the Giants deserve to be on the high end of the league in this category by the way, but Nabers projects to being an elite talent, and I think it's reasonable to believe that at least one of Hyatt and/or Wan'Dale projects out to being a solid WR2 or high end WR3. Plus we have some depth on the team with guys like McKenzie and Allen Robinson.

As far as I can tell, this is all receivers (WR, TE, and RB) combined which, in my opinion, is as it should be

Nobody can rank players who have never played and players in developmental stages and have never played together before as a group. It's a results based site that lowers themselves to get hits.
