He is tall at 6'8" and plays around 315 pounds so pretty lean for his height.  He played ORT at BC but ciuld be a swing tackle until he grows into starter.  What caught my attention is that Dante Scarnecchia, the legendary OL coach, has been coaching him all offseason leading up to the draft.  I am a fan of BC players.  Always seem smart and coachable.  I like him as maybe a 3rd round pick.

I don't know him, but I agree about BC players in general, and I certainly like the idea of finding an OT in the third round who is capable of becoming a starter in a couple years. Sadly we are still very needy at this position.

Agree with you.  For this draft, other than getting a QB, I'd be thrilled if we focused on OL and DL the rest of the draft.

Could be good, should be in their radar

RG is more important right now though.

If the Giants draft a right tackle who could start, Eluemonure could always be kicked back in to play at right guard (where they initially signed him to play).

While I don't mind the sound of this, considering Schoen's offensive line picks to this point, I really struggle to see how he would be able to outfox the other 31 GMs by finding an OT in the third round capable of being more than a mediocre depth guy.

So far, Schoen has taken a 2nd round center who to this point looks like a bust, a guard in the early third round who is definitely a bust, and another guard in the 5th round who is also a bust and not even on the team anymore. Not to mention Evan Neal, who is one of the biggest O line draft busts in NFL history.

Are they busts (i.e. lack or have underdeveloped skillsets and are unable to improve them) victims of constant line shuffling (NOTE: due to injuries), coaching (e.g. not being utilized to their strengths) or, D - all the above?

I believe Bricillo can get the job done here. But he needs able and healthy players to do that. So, if he sees something in the BC kid he feels he can develop into a good NFL player, I'm sure he has input into the process as well.

But they have to fix the O-Line no matter what. They especially have to address the depth/talent issue especially. What happened after Thomas went down last season cannot ever happen to a team. There's no excuse for that. They are at least addressing the depth issue. How these players they've acquired show up in talent, for what Bricillo has planned for them, remains to be seen. But they're addressing the issue in free agency and, next, need to add two or three more players through the draft to check the box that they've accomplished phase one of "Fix the Damned Offensive Line, once and for all!"

I'm all in on Trapilo. No matter how many mocks I do (and I do several a day), he's the first offensive lineman on my board. I believe he would be well suited to be the bookend to Thomas. He's going to be a good NFL right tackle IMHO. And I don't want another experiment of drafting a long time LT and trying to turn him into a RT. Sometimes it works, most the time it doesn't. Too much risk IMO

Armand Membou is the best of the bunch as a pure RT (like Trapilo), but with the Giants' needs, they probably won't address the offensive line until round 3, in which the Giants have the first pick in rd 3 as well as near the end of rd 3. Membou will probably be gone in the first round or early second. Of course, that is all speculation on my part

I think QB and CB are the two areas the Giants will focus on in the first two rounds - and I could be wrong, as proven year after year, lol

The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

Drafting an ORT makes so much sense for the Giants.  We can use a young starter and bump JE to RG where he prefers to play anyway.  Like you noted, it's not a 1st round need (it is in my mind), but it should be addressed in first three rounds.  I love what Trapilo can do.  He's not heavy footed like Evan Neal (another 6'8" player but playing at 330-340 pounds).  Dante noted that he's a good technician.  If he is striking with his hands, his arm position is good, his feet are in the right position and he is not reaching so as to be off balance.

This is the first I am hearing that he was brought in to be a G, he was RT for the Raiders when they signed him.

Either way, whatever fixes the line, there are fewer G prospects than T, so whatever works at the end of the day.

QuoteOne of the biggest storylines we're following this year is the status of the Giants' reconstituted offensive line. And the news of the day (at least so far) is that free agent Jermaine Eluemunor will start camp as the right tackle.

Eluemunor practiced at left guard throughout the spring, and at one point said that he'd prefer to stay there so he can concentrate on learning the one position. However, the Giants had to move him to right tackle after placing Evan Neal on the PUP list to start camp. Neal has seemingly suffered a setback as he returns from surgery to repair his injured ankle.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said during his remarks before practice that they would "revisit" Eluemunor at right tackle once Neal is healthy and off the PUP list, with GM Joe Schoen adding that Neal isn't "far off" returning.
