I dont believe that for a second.  In 2023 under Saban and in his first year as a starter, he threw for 65%+, 2800 yards + and 23 TDs/6 INTs.  Quiet kid and according to Nick Sheridan, DeBoer's OC, the hardest worker he's ever seen.

Along with his raw physical talent, he is a model citizen in every way and a A plus student.

Quote from: Philosophers on March 21, 2025, 04:46:08 PMEverybody is comparing Milroe to Lamar Jackson but I think the better comparison is to Josh Allen when he was at Wyoming.  Both have similar problems in college with putting their feet in the right place to make repeatable throws.  Both relied too much on their elite arms.  Allen is taller but Milroe is more athletic and just as thick.  Milroe has highest ceiling of the 2025 QBs but also the lowest floor.  I am really wondering if Daboll is thinking that he can fix Milroe's feet the way Allen's feet got fixed.  Bills history, Alabama history.  Hmmmm.

I also wonder if fans are truly missing that DeBoer's offense was very different from Sabans which may have set the kid back as well.
I wouldn't make comparisons but you nailed it on his mechanics and it all starts with his Box Stance and dropback. Easily correctable. It causes him to make awkward throws. It's quite ugly compared to a Shedeur Sanders. It might even be the cause for him to be late in reading his progressions and late throws. Unfortunately kids like this often go to the wrong team and they wind up getting lost because they don't have Draft position clout. I think he's a third round pick. But his ability to gain yards and TDs with his legs may motivate a team to pick him earlier. I would take a chance on him and cut Tommy.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

100%.  Comes from a military family.  3.52 GPA. With his work ethic, athleticism and smarts, this is the kind of kid I build a team around.

I agree.  It is 100% correctable and you made a good subtle point that it may have affected his progressions.  Under Saban he had multiple progressions to work through but under DeBoer it was normally a one read throw.

If he gets drafted in 2nd round or maybe 3rd with a bridge QB, I think a team will view as a 1st rounder needing to commit fully to develop him into a starter.

He might go late first round. But definitely he will not be around in the third round.

Yes.  You cant fix stupidity or constant poor judgment but you can fix footwork.
